I can’t remember featuring a Polish wedding on my blog before, but if this is the kind of standards they’re setting, then I seriously should be posting more of them! There’s so much wedding gorgeousness in these images I can hardly contain myself.
Martyna & Piotr were married in Warsaw. The ceremony was held at Jablonna Palace and the reception was at U Różyca , a private farm just outside of the city and right by Lake Zegrzynski. The reception was basically one big party! Laid back, unpretentious and with everyone pitching in to help.
Seriously, stop it Martyna. You’re killing me with your fierceness.
The bride wore a daring but beautiful short dress by Bizuu and shoes by Aga Prus (she changed into Melissa sandals for dancing!) Her style was quirky yet timeless, elegant yet adventurous – and I for one can’t get enough of it. The pink sash with her bold bouquet is perfection and the giant floral hair wreath that she wore late into the evening added even more fun.

Red flowing locks, a faux fur coat, deep red flowers in her hair... as soon as I spied the beautiful Lauren on photographer Emma Case's blog I knew she was definitely a Rock n Roll bride. And then I saw the entire wedding and I literally couldn't wait to get it up on these pages - as soon as possible!
Lee & Lauren were married in November at Stoke Newington Town Hall. They has their reception at The Artisan of Clerkenwell, a pub/restaurant in North East London. They did things their own way. They picked a non-traditional venue, they homemade as much as possible and only invited people that they really wanted to be there. This wedding was every bit the modern fairytale.

Unpretentious & Family-Focused DIY Wedding in Anglesey: Anna & Adam

I'm not gonna lie, I've been looking forward to featuring Anna and Adam's wedding for a while. Anna is a wedding photographer herself, and I'm a big fan of her work, so I knew her own wedding would be something special. The wedding was 100% DIY. They picked a venue that wasn't specifically for weddings, but meant a great deal for them. They didn't want to spend a lot of money, so did most things as frugally as possible. Their main concern was that the day involved all the special people in their lives.
The wedding took place by the sea in Anglesey in May. "We didn't have a wedding theme as such", began Anna, "we just wanted it to be colourful, relaxed, fun, full of laughs, unpretentious, family-focused and very much DIY and personalised to us and the people and things we love. We wanted everyone there to feel special and comfortable and get involved as much as they wanted to. Lots of weddings focus just on the bride and groom, but to us it was also very much a day about our wonderful group of friends and family. We’re both incredibly close to them and it was really important to us to celebrate the fact that we weren't just coming together as a couple, but also as part of a precious larger community."

Iwona & Piotr wanted a simple and fuss-free wedding, one that reflected their Polish heritage but also showcased their love for all things retro. The day had a lot of DIY elements, from the brides dress to her brooch bouquet and the majority of the reception details.
"We wanted a simple wedding", wrote Iwona. "We love Rock n Roll and retro styles and we both have very old souls and like the old minimalist styles. Our colours were cobalt, black and white and we kept things simple. We also DIYed a lot."

Stephanie and Sebastian travelled from their home in Germany to have a teeny tiny elopement ceremony on a dry lake bed just outside of Vegas. The bride wore a homemade dress and headpiece, and she arranged her own bouquet with flowers from Whole Foods. They brought lawn flamingos as décor and Mexican blankets to use as props for their photos.

For Roxane and Pierre, a relaxed homespun wedding was perfect. Their small ceremony was held at city hall, and they hosted the reception in the bride's house. "Pierre and I met in Qatar, where we both work as airline pilots", the bride began. "Everything happened very fast and after eight months together we decided to move in together. The only problem was that you are not allowed to live together without being married in Qatar so we decided to get married!"

Ania and Stach did not want a formal day or a church ceremony, but they also didn't want to do the registry office thing, "We thought it would strip the magic away" the bride said. So instead they decided to marry on the hill near the groom's parent's cottage. They had the reception in a barn on the same land.
