Yep, this is what I love about the weddings I feature – the awesome uniqueness. Sometimes I find it hard not to share the same picture perfect weddings I see popping up all over blog-land and I even have to give myself a little talking to sometimes and tell myself you love little old Rock n Roll Bride for how different the wedding’s that I feature are… right?

Krista & Uryah had a 1920s style wedding in Snohomish, WA. As a professional seamstress, Krista planned and DIY'd the majority of wedding herself. I have a whole lot of love for this set - her shoes, her back lace umbrella, the cigarette holders - classy and wonderful!

Max and Sarah were married at Rocher Harbor Resort, Washington. The wedding was timelessly elegant with rustic touches but with a dash of punk rock awesomeness thrown in! "Our wedding was a true labor of love," began the bride. "From the handmade terrariums topping our tables, ceremony arbor, and DIY'd program goodie bags - every step of our wedding was a group effort. Tim and Scarlett were married on 8th August, their five year anniversary. They had a church ceremony followed by a tea party reception in the gardens of Baxby Manor, a gorgeous 705 year old Manor house. "We knew that we wanted somewhere beautiful, and Baxby ticked all the boxes", Scarlett began. "It even came with a glamping site down the lane for all our guests to stay over! Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."

Woodland Nymphs

How do I even begin to describe a wedding like this? Eco? Hippy Chic? Organic? Ourdoorsy? Woodland nymph-like? Musical? Midsummer Night's Dream-esque? None of these words seem to do any kinda of justice to this beautiful wedding.
Samuel & Jessica were married in Moravian falls at Pennel Horse farm. They wanted they day to have a raw and natural feel with a bit of mystical charm and simplicity. "They defined their wedding by what they love and not what tradition says to do", photographer Shelley told me "so they combined some common elements of the wedding ceremony, seasoned with of a little bit of hippie, funk, vintage and organic charm. Every little thing was a reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple."
Their bridal/groomal parties were huge and the woods were filled with light and music from the lanterns they all carried and the drums they played. The ceremony was a really emotional one (as you can see from the video below) the pair washed each other's feet and Sam even sang and played guitar to his new wife. The reception looks like a blast! The guests ate great organic food and they danced into the night around a giant bonfire.
Jessica's dress was by Amalia Cararra. She bought her dress at "Stardust Celebrations" in Dallas, Texas, where she she was spotted by the creators of a new reality show on WEtv called "Girl Meets Dress." The couple's love story will be aired March 9th as the premier episode! Be sure to check out a snippet of their wedding video below as a little sneaky peak!

Homespun DIY Farm Wedding: Nicole & Greg

Nicole & Greg were married at home, at their own farm in Port Orchard, Washington. The wedding was a DIY family affair. The maid of honour's mother baked the cake, Greg’s Aunt baked the pies and family and friends catered the event with home cooked food. A very good friend officiated the ceremony and Nicole’s mother played the harp for the processional. Greg’s mother made all the bouquets and boutonnieres and Nicole designed the invitations and RSVP cards, as well as all the decor and reception details!

Natalie & Oliver were married in France, at Oliver's parents home in L’Isle En Dodon. The British couple live in The States but made the trip to France to marry surrounded by their friends and family. "The French countryside and beautiful barn were our main inspiration and did a lot of the hard work for us!" explained the pair. "The family setting and DIY approach gave the wedding a really personal touch, which we would never have been able to achieve in a more traditional venue, and gave the wedding an incredibly unique feel. So many people contributed to making the wedding as amazing as it was – it really was a family affair and those invites, certainly a labour of love!"

Getting married on December 1st, Katie & Nicholas had a rustic winter themed wedding. The day was held at Karnes Stables in Florida. "According to our guests, our wedding felt like 'Twilight' meets 'Pinterest' which I am NOT offended by at all!" laughed the bride. "I wanted our day to feel magical and very comfortable and I think through the months of planning and creating, we achieved what we wanted perfectly. The hard work and creativity did not go unnoticed by our guests."
"We've always been very creative and didn't want a normal clichéd or traditional wedding. Pinterest was a huge inspiration but we didn't want to copy what everyone else had done. So we just brainstormed a lot on ideas how to make it feel like 'us'. We hunted down every item at the Salvation Army and second hand stores and turned other people's trash into our treasures!"
