I think I say this every time I feature a Palm Springs wedding but oh boy is this place on my holiday wish list… I’m also now pretty set on staying at The Viceroy after seeing this wedding. In fact I couldn’t think of a more perfect venue for a modern wedding with black, grey and yellow accents.
“We wanted an intimate destination wedding for around 50 of our friends and family in Palm Springs and the Viceroy had the perfect feel”, began Melaina, the bride. “Not to mention that our colors yellow, grey and black were in the decor already. An outdoor wedding was important to us and we didn’t want something stuffy or too traditional. The reading we chose for our ceremony was, The Owl and the Pussycat, and as our recessional music we walked out to ‘Oh Yeah’ by Yello which is from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
Artisan Events helped co-ordinate the wedding as well as styling the reception space and providing the flowers but the couple took charge of all the paper goods. “We made our own wedding program fans in our wedding colors to have on each guest’s seat”, Melaina continued. “Because of the warm weather I thought a fan would be cute and practical. We had the program designed by Flair Designery and had them printed by Spot-On Print & Design . Tim and I rounded all the corners of the programs and used double sided tape to add the wavy wooden fan handles that we purchased on etsy and ties on yellow bows.”
Utterly gorgeous! Thank you to Melaina & Tim, wedding photographer Heather Kincaid & planner Liz of Artisan Events for sharing this wedding with us today.

A Modern Wedding on an Aeroplane: Robyn & Tom
Kat
August 2, 2012
Both air traffic controllers, and with a mutual attention to detail and love for planes, Robyn & Tom were thrilled when they were allowed to get married on a Pacific Western plane at Edmonton Aviation Museum. "It took a lot of convincing but the museum were gracious to allow the bride and groom to use the airplane", explained their Canadian wedding photographer Elizabeth of ENV Photography. "Guests were assigned seats on a seating chart that mimicked the chart that you pick your seat from when booking your plane ticket! Prior to the groom walking down, his sons and daughter walked down the aisle and handed out cookies to all the guests - just like a real airline!"

Pretty in Pink: A Tropical Meets Junk Food London Wedding

February 3, 2020
Lucie and Tommy's London wedding was inspired by the bride's love of pink, their mutual appreciation for the tropical aesthetic and the 1950s, and London, where the day took place. The bride arrived at Hackney Town Hall in a pink Cadillac, her bridal party all wore pink dresses from Coast and their reception decor was all shades from pastel to fuchsia and everything in between. They served their favourite junk food (burgers and Domino's pizza!) and had one hell of a party!

An Intimate Palm Springs Wedding with just 10 Guests: Berrit & Daniel
Kat
January 20, 2012
Berrit & Daniel had just 8 (well 10 including their photographer Marianne Wilson and her assistant!) guests for their super intimate wedding in Palm Springs. By keeping the numbers so small they were able to pay real attention to all the wedding details in order to create an utterly stunning celebration. The wedding was held at a private house called Silver Orchid.
The couple traveled from Germany, where they live, to be married in California on a Friday evening. They had a florist come in and set up an archway and chair for the ceremony as well as a little dinner set up out on the lawn that was catered (mini milkshakes and all) by Chef KK.

Ali's main goal for her June wedding to Mike was for it to feel modern and contemporary with a colourful edge. They chose the iconic Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs which obviously ticked all the colourful boxes! They didn't need to add much in the need of extra decor at all, using the rainbow backdrop of the hotel in all their photos.

Off the Hook Carnival Eye Candy
Kat
November 17, 2009
I knew Amy & Jesse's wedding would be off-the-hook with it's intense awesomeness as soon as I saw and blogged their engagements a while back. Surely a couple this offbeat and rockin' couldn't have anything but a super crazy, kooky, inspirational and incredible wedding day could they? However, even I was blown off my chair when I laid eyes on these little beauties. Their DIY, carnival wedding was not only ridiculously creative and awe-inspiring but the couple themselves literally looked like a candy covered explosion of kick ass attitude and fun all over! (By the way I fully realise that my explanation of my thoughts on this wedding probably make little or no grammatical and linguistical sense - however my intense excitement over getting to blog these appears to have rendered by logical brain dysfunctional!) Got it? Right...on with the show...
A HUGE Rock n Roll thank you to Marina of Red Heart Photography for sending these over. I couldn't wait to blog these (as always) and so the photos below are actually only part 1 & 2 of her posts. Go check out her blog over the next few weeks for even more eye candy!

Connor and Jade always knew their wedding wouldn't be a subdued affair. At the majestic Crowcombe Court in Taunton, they planned a celebration that was less about tradition and more about pure, unbridled joy. "We did not follow a traditional theme, our main aim was to ensure we and all our guests had fun."
