Lisa of Ophelia Photography not only captured this wedding as beautifully as she always does, but as the couple were some of her best friends she was also a Bridesmaid – multi tasking or what?
The boots, the flowers, the Bridesmaid dresses, the skate park, the rockstar photo shoot…I love it all!
Lisa described the day on her blog:
The say good things come to those who wait, and these two waited 11 years for their wedding day. It was perfect in every-way and I was honored to take part in the celebration as both the photographer and bridesmaid. I believe it was my most challenging wedding to date, as I was swept up in the emotions of the day and having to relinquish control of only shooting about 50 % of the photos. My beautiful and lovely dear friend of 24 years (we met in preschool at age 4) was drop dead gorgeous and anyone in her presence on that day felt the magic. The magic being that after 11 years they were getting married and celebrating their love in front of close family and friends.
As Enya played we waiting by the bridge prepared to walk down the aisle to stand presently for Jen and Rich. As I watched Jen coming down the aisle and Richard watching her…. I was done. Oh the tears….their tears, the happiness, the moment, was like a dream. Jen and Rich were radiating with happiness. All of there parents were radiating with happiness….11 years of happiness. It was awesome!

Casey & Caitlin were married at Dos Picos Park in Ramona, CA. They wanted their wedding to be laid back, fun, but most of all very 'them'.
"My inspiration was to keep things very us", began the bride. "Well actually, our theme was 100% Caitlin, with a splash of Casey thrown in here and there! I have been to weddings that are gorgeous and looked at hundreds on blogs and in magazines when looking for inspiration for our wedding. I have liked many of the things I've seen, but none of them were really right."

Meeting over a jukebox in a dive bar 13 years ago, having a wedding that reflected their rock 'n' roll spirit felt natural. Alice affectionately referred to it as an "elevated cowboy" experience and it was an extension of their regular home décor and dress style.

Nathan and Robyn described their wedding as "a yee-haw showdown", where the cowboy theme was woven into every detail of their day. With cacti, bejewelled suits and neon lights, their own backyard was transformed into their venue. The guests were dressed in their cowboy best too which really added to the theme.

I was convinced this wedding was a styled shoot with models. Convinced. These kinds of beautiful people don't exist in real life do they?!
Well, apparently they do, and I've got the photographs to prove it. Stand by for some serious wedding envy my friends - That light! That dress! Those model-esque bridesmaids!

People often ask me if I ever get bored of blogging about weddings. I can see why because usually once you've been doing something - anything - for as long as I have been doing this, it's natural to think that you might start to become a little 'over' it. So while I'm not going to pretend that I'm always thrilled, overjoyed and amazed by every wedding that graces my inbox, I can safely say that I am probably as far from 'over' this job as I could be... especially when I get sent images like Polly and Jamie's wedding to drool over.

Rain on your wedding day is a big worry for a lot of couples, but today I'm here to prove to you that it can actually be pretty amazing! Yes, Helen and James' outdoor festival wedding was a wash-out, but they definitely didn't let it ruin their day. Check out the amazing photographs their photographer Neil Thomas Douglas was able to capture... of course shots like this requires a couple who aren't afraid to get a little wet and muddy, but these guys went all out! They even went out in a boat on the river during the downpour!

When wedding photographer Matt Miller emailed me to tell me he'd shot the wedding of Winston McCall, lead singer of Australian metalcore band Parkway Drive, and asking if I'd like to feature it, I nearly fell off my chair. "Er... stupid question!" I replied, "OF COURSE!" He married his high school sweetheart, Jessica, in beautiful Byron Bay on May 11th this year.

Atmospheric Lake District Wedding: Helen & Andy

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).
