For their December wedding, Janelle & Liam wanted an aspect of heritage and an element of the handmade. They chose Eryldene Historic House and Garden in Gordon (Sydney, Australia) as the place to host their celebration. “Most of our wedding was handmade – assembled and painted by bridal party,” the couple explained.
“We made our own vintage fabric bunting and table cloths as well as hand made fabric napkins. We sourced over 100 vintage plates from op shops and collected jam jars from family and friends. For favours we had home made seed pouches and home made orange flavoured lolly pops. The seating chart was a window from an old home in Epping and some fence posts. We wrote on the window panes so people knew where to sit.”
Janelle wore a silk crêpe de Chine dress, hand dyed in tea leaves, which was designed and made by her sister, Louise Welling . Her baby’s breath flower head garland was put together by her Mother.
Thank you to Janelle & Liam and their fabulous photographer Julian of Kariz Matik Photography for sharing these today.

People often ask me if I ever get bored of blogging about weddings. I can see why because usually once you've been doing something - anything - for as long as I have been doing this, it's natural to think that you might start to become a little 'over' it. So while I'm not going to pretend that I'm always thrilled, overjoyed and amazed by every wedding that graces my inbox, I can safely say that I am probably as far from 'over' this job as I could be... especially when I get sent images like Polly and Jamie's wedding to drool over.

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...

Tim and Scarlett were married on 8th August, their five year anniversary. They had a church ceremony followed by a tea party reception in the gardens of Baxby Manor, a gorgeous 705 year old Manor house. "We knew that we wanted somewhere beautiful, and Baxby ticked all the boxes", Scarlett began. "It even came with a glamping site down the lane for all our guests to stay over! Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."

Sigh! I just adore weddings liked Mark and Erika's. Chilled out, not at all matchy-matchy and where everyone looks like they had a total blast. The couple didn't wait a 'tick the box' wedding, instead they pulled inspiration from all over - their heritage, their home and their friends. "We didn't really have a theme or colours that matched", Erika wrote. "I have always been a mis-match kind of girl so we had elements of our backgrounds so Japan / Yorkshire / countryside / Autumn / vintage/ boho!"

A French Resturant Wedding: Kat & Ton

Being massive foodies, Kat & Ton knew that serving a fantastic meal was high on their list of wedding day priorities. So for their reception venue they selected their favourite French restaurant in Brisbane, Montrachet. "In my opinion Montrachet is the best French restaurant in the city, and has been a family favourite for years", Kat told me. "Feeding our families and friends good food and wine was very important to us. The staff, both kitchen and front of house, made sure the night was perfect with superb food and exceptional service."
