I love picturing all the new readers, who got engaged over the holidays, giddily unwrapping their first issue and settling down with a hot chocolate by the fire. Jayme, who was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in Papua New Guinea, met Brady, a South Carolina native, in Hong Kong. Despite their very different upbringings, they quickly made Hong Kong their shared home. They chose Bali for their wedding, as its natural beauty was the perfect place to create the tropical celebration they wanted. It was also important to them to include cultural elements that represented their individual journeys. The floral choices reflected Jayme's childhood memories, and the décor combined Bali's vibrancy with a laid-back, intimate vibe.

Emma and Alex's summer wedding was held at the New Orleans Museum of Art, with the ceremony outside in the sculpture garden. The bride opted to wear yellow, with the groom in statement suit with custom appliques and a bolo tie hand-carved for him by his grandfather. Their theme, a blend of disco and classic country influences, was inspired by the venue's colourful surroundings as well as their desire to have a wedding which was true to them rather than following trends.

When Hannah and Nate decided to tie the knot, they knew they didn't have a lot to spend, but that wasn't going to stop them having the wedding they wanted. Both line cooks, they were lucky enough to be offered the restaurant where the bride works as their venue, which they used after hours. Everything else was homemade and their secondhand outfits were pieced together from pieces found at Poshmark and Goodwill, totalling less than $50 combined!

The couple exchanged vows at the St. Francis Chapel, an architectural gem tucked inside Balboa Park’s Museum of Us. “We love history, art, and architecture, and our venues reflect that,” Melissa says. “The chapel looks like something out of an old Catholic church, but it’s actually an exhibit. It’s unconsecrated, which made it feel like we were bending the rules just a little.”
