Set against the dreamy backdrop of Venice’s San Servolo Island, Anna and Keith’s wedding was a love letter to the golden age of cinema. When Mariela and Mat, who met in 2018 at a tattoo convention, decided to tie the knot, they knew that while they didn't have a particular theme or vison in mind, they wanted something that incorporated their love for the desert, retro decor and tattoos. They found the perfect spot in downtown Las Vegas at the Sure Thing Chapel, featuring an officiant with a twist: Hellvis, the chapel’s resident 'spooky and campy Elvis' evil twin'. The couple exchanged vows at the St. Francis Chapel, an architectural gem tucked inside Balboa Park’s Museum of Us. “We love history, art, and architecture, and our venues reflect that,” Melissa says. “The chapel looks like something out of an old Catholic church, but it’s actually an exhibit. It’s unconsecrated, which made it feel like we were bending the rules just a little.”
