Shaloo and Timothy’s celebration combined a Hindu ceremony with a contemporary Western reception, set against the Boston skyline. They wanted their wedding to represent them both as individuals as well as the way they balance each other together. The black and white Yin-Yang’ theme ran through every detail, from their custom-patterned dance floor to the striking floral installations.

Their ceremony blended Hindu traditions with a modern exchange of self-written vows. They incorporated the garland exchange and Saptapadi, followed by a personal promise to one another.

One of the most significant moments of the day was their Baraat (groom’s wedding procession) which took place at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, “We were the first-ever same-sex Baraat at Faneuil Hall Marketplace which was a standout moment”, Shaloo told us. “The energy of the Baraat weaving through a historical Boston landmark felt both celebratory and groundbreaking.”

For the reception, the balance of black and white took centre stage. Their tuxedos, designed in collaboration with Rivesse Clothing, reflected their theme as much as their individual styles. “We loved Collaborating with Rivesse on all our custom outfits”, they said. “Each garment represented a different cultural event. We wore vibrant yellow for the Haldi, deep blue for the Mehendi, white sherwanis for the ceremony, and black and white tuxedos for the reception.”

A playlist of Bollywood and Western kept the dance floor moving, and their families even surprised them with a choreographed performance. “Locking eyes with Shaloo throughout the day was the best part”, Timothy concluded, “realising this was the start of our forever. The wedding was everything we hoped for and more.”
