Molly and Dante wanted their wedding to be a glimpse into their lives and personalities. Set against the backdrop of Hicksville Pines in Idyllwild, CA, they chose quirky campground as their venue which came compete with themed cabins for their friends to stay in.

“We sprinkled things in that paid tribute to moments throughout our relationship”, the bride told us. “For example, we travel a lot together and have enjoyed taking in mushrooms to help open our minds up to each other. We made lemon mushroom shots for our guests to enjoy. Hicksville was actually one of our first trips together and where we really solidified the fact that we were each other’s person. We also both have come to the conclusion that we heal each other’s inner child and allow it to flourish. We invited guests to go around the property and enjoy the unique features and also made a customised colouring book for all to enjoy.”

Before the ceremony, the couple shared a private smoke break, where they were able to centre themselves and reflect on the journey they were about to embark on. Guests also enjoyed 420-themed goodies.

Molly walked down the aisle to This is What Falling In Love Looks Like by JVKE, and the couple exchanged vows they had written side by side but kept secret until the big day. “We’re both competitive, so we kept teasing each other while writing,” Molly said, laughing. “But in the end, our vows were exactly what we needed them to be—a perfect reflection of how much we love and challenge each other.” Guests were invited to bless the rings as they were passed around, and the ceremony concluded with a handfasting ritual.

For Molly, one of the most memorable parts of the day was the collaboration with Dante throughout the planning process. “We curated everything together,” she explained. “It wasn’t just my wedding or his wedding—it was ours, in every sense of the word. That’s what made it special. At the start of things, we were trying to save as much money as possible by doing everything ourselves. But eventually we both realised that we were only going to stress ourselves out and not be able to enjoy the day. So my advice: Don’t try to do everything yourself. It is okay to splurge on certain things to ensure that the day is as special as possible.”
