Melanie and Daniel got hitched on Halloween at the Sure Thing Chapel in downtown Vegas. The chapel handled everything for them—the officiant, the flowers, and even recommending the photographer—making the whole process completely stress-free, even as Vegas first-timers. They didn’t technically invite any guests; the people who came kind of invited themselves!
“Since we were getting married in Vegas, we really wanted to embrace that vibe,” the bride told us. “We both love anything western, which inspired Dan’s suit. Vintage is a huge part of my life, so when we were in Arizona earlier this year, I stumbled upon the perfect shirt for him. It felt like it was meant to be—especially since we had just got engaged a few days earlier on top of Mt. Lemmon!”
“We chose our venue because we both love vintage aesthetics, and Sure Thing Chapel perfectly captured that vibe. There was another chapel we considered, but having Hellvis as our officiant was non-negotiable—it just fit us too well. The whole day was such a fun mix of classic Vegas, western charm, and a touch of spooky.”
As for the bride’s look, she had two dresses picked out and kept going back and forth between them. In the end, the red one—borrowed from a friend—won. “It was perfect for the venue and was also a one-of-a-kind vintage piece from the 1950s. And no, I wasn’t channelling Lydia Deetz—but let’s be honest, her dress was fabulous, right? Everything about the day just felt uniquely us.”
The day started on such a relaxing note. Before all the excitement, some of their friends joined them at a spa to unwind and get into a calm mindset for the day ahead. “We spent a few hours in the morning enjoying saunas, cold plunges, and steam rooms—it was such a perfect way to kick things off,” Melanie explained. Then, after getting ready at their hotel, El Cortez, everyone met in the lobby before walking over to the chapel together.
“Walking to the venue with our little crew was such a great start to the day, and our first dance was another highlight,” Daniel said. “I was a little worried Melanie might break her ankle in her shoes, but she made it down the stairs at the El Cortez hotel looking absolutely stunning! Seeing her for the first time as she came down the stairs was unforgettable. Reading our vows together was also a really special moment.” As they bonded over their mutual love of Korn when they first met, after the ceremony Got the Life played while they had their photos taken and used the photo booth.
The reception began with drinks and photos at Atomic Liquors, followed by a private karaoke session at Ninja Karaoke. “Karaoke is something we both love, so it felt like the perfect way to celebrate,” Daniel said. The night ended with Halloween chaos on Fremont Street, where the couple, dressed as vampire ‘newly deads,’ soaked up the vibrant Vegas energy. “The whole night was such a mix of laughter, spontaneity, and good times,” Melanie said. “Exactly what we wanted.”
Since they’d never been to Vegas before, planning their trip was a fun and exciting experience. And it meant they had a holiday as well as their wedding for under $3,500. “Eloping was way more affordable than hosting a wedding back home, even when factoring in the trip itself,” the bride concluded. “It was also so much fun—more couples should consider it! Hold onto the traditions that are meaningful to you and don’t be afraid to let go of the rest. Your wedding should reflect who you are, not what’s expected. It’s such a freeing and personal way to celebrate your love! You will also walk away with far fewer regrets than if you do things that don’t resonate with you and may overshadow what does.”
