Yas and Jean wanted a small wedding and for it to have the same feel as a Vegas elopement, but a lot closer to home! With a budget of £6,000 and just 15 guests, they managed to create a super fun and intimate experience for their afternoon celebration.

The ceremony took place at the historic Brighton Town Hall where the couple chose a later ceremony time to savour their morning getting ready together. “The ceremony was the best part of the wedding!” Yas told us. “It was so much fun, the registrars at Brighton Town Hall were absolutely fantastic. There’s a picture of us dancing in our ceremony that just sums it up for us – fun and full of love. We did personalised vows which was the best part of it all.”

Following the ceremony, the entire group walked to Market Restaurant, Yas and Jean’s favorite restaurant, but not before stopping at a corner shop for drinks to enjoy along the way! The reception also had an open bar, which kept the party spirits up all evening!

“The Market did an outstanding job, providing an incredible spread of food and setting up a stunning champagne tower”, she continued. “We created a playlist of favourite songs so we knew it was going to be non-stop bangers from start to finish. The highlight was most of us doing the dance to Saturday Night by Whigfield!”

Although they didn’t have lots of added extras or decor, one special touch they did do was to write a handwritten message to each guest as wedding favors. “We just wanted to show how much they really mean to us by doing something a little bit different,” said the bride.

They managed to keep their expenses in check, with Yas’ dress being a steal at £50 in the sale and Jean’s outfit costing around £75. The biggest splurge was on the reception and open bar, but both were totally worth it to make sure everyone had an unforgettable time.

“Lots more people should do micro weddings,” Yas concluded. “We had nothing but good experiences, potentially because we did a smaller wedding. It’s your day, so do it your way! Your friends and family will just be happy that you’re having the best time.”
