If you picked up a copy of the latest issue of the magazine , then you will have already seen a preview of this incredible yellow wedding session. We loved the photos so much we felt they deserved a full feature in all it’s sunny and bright glory too!
Organised and photographed by Alex and Jessica of The Villar Photo Co., this session was inspired by the real couple who modelled for them. “I wanted to create a fun explosion of colour plus non-traditional wedding aspects for this shoot”, Alex told us. “We have this super cute ice cream shop where we live and they let us shoot there.”
“Jonathan brought his black suit and sunglasses and the dress and bow in her hair were made by me! It gave the exact look that I was going for, along with some accessories from Target. In total we probably spent around $30 on materials! The goal for the shoot was to create a high end editorial wedding that focused on bright colours.”

As a girl who's more than slightly obsessed with weddings and photography, there's pretty much nothing more thrilling to me than discovering new (to me) wedding photographer that is INCREDIBLE. It doesn't happen very often, but when it does I feel like I've won the wedding-blogging-lottery. And don't even get me started on what happens when I discover a videographer with as much talent as this. Actual tears people, there were actual tears.

The Quirky
November 8, 2014
When it comes to me accepting submissions to feature on this blog, I always ask myself the same two simple questions: Will my readers like this? And are there ideas in here that people can actually apply to their own weddings? More and more these days, I'm only able to answer yes to both these questions with the real weddings I'm sent. However sometimes, just sometimes, a styled wedding shoot fits the bill as well.

This hippy-esque countryside shoot was set up by wedding photographer Camilla Rosa. who really wanted to shoot an emotional set that perfectly reflected the couple in it. Jesse and Charlie live in a hut on the banks of a river with no electricity, sing in a band, home made pretty much everything and only wear charity shop or home made clothes - so her idea was perfect for them!

Surprise Pool Party Wedding Recreation

Oh I love a surprise wedding! And a surprise wedding + pool party!? EPIC!
But this wasn't actually a real wedding (sad face) although it was set up as a recreation of the actual wedding of some friends of the photographer who were married 30 years ago. Jessie & Kenny had this actual wedding, in this exact same spot in 1982 (some of their wedding photos are at the end of the gallery - how amazing are they?!) So to celebrate, and to have an their anniversary party with a difference, they decided to relive the whole thing. This is a styled shoot with a difference and, yes, they really had the big party afterwards!

A Runaway Bride Styled Shoot

London wedding photographer Ann Charlotte set up this morning's editorial shoot in order to showcase an idea she'd had running through her head for a while. "I love fairytales and this fictional fairytale wedding/fashion shoot was inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the idea of a runaway bride. I wanted to shoot a misunderstood bride, running away from her wedding in tears. After some soul searching she eventually came back home to a waiting husband-to-be and a reconciliation."
