What are the advantages of eloping in Italy?
Italy is a wonderful country that offers breathtaking scenery and dream locations for an elopement. An intimate wedding allows for a more authentic and personal experience, away from the stress and expectations of others. Moreover, it saves on costs compared to a traditional wedding.
Choosing your location
It might seem like a daunting task, but with the right support, it can be very simple to elope in Italy! After setting your budget and date, start looking for your location. Popular places to elope in Italy are:
Tuscany: Famous for its rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages. Amalfi Coast: Known for stunning seaside views and picturesque towns. Lake Como: Offers breathtaking lake views and elegant villas. Venice: Ideal for romantic gondola rides and historic architecture. Sicily: For a mix of history, beaches and unique culture.
As well as Google, look through location hashtags on Instagram (#tustanyelopement #tuscanywedding etc) and check out real wedding stories on wedding blogs to find places and then contact the ones that catch your eye.
Once you have your location sorted, research local suppliers (photographer, videographer, florist, catering etc).
The legal bit
There may also be some bureaucratic procedures to sort out to ensure the marriage is legal. These will be different depending where you are from, but if you are based in the UK then you can find out everything you need to know at gov.uk.
