It wouldn’t have been a spooky themed issue without a suitably gothic editorial. For our cover shoot in our Sept/Oct edition, we used two models so we could show both the light and dark side – and we think the interplay and contrast between black and white really works. And yes, you can definitely bring a gothic vibe to your wedding look while still wearing white!
We wanted to create something dark and mysterious and Wednesday Addams served as our perfect muse. Known for her dark humour, intelligence and unique style, Wednesday encapsulates the essence of a gothic bride or bridesmaid. How about bridesmaids in short, collared looks while the bride rocks a dramatic, long black corseted gown?
We shot this editorial at Rushpool Hall; a stunning 19th Century mansion nestled in the coastal town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea in North Yorkshire. This unique property is set in acres of manicured gardens overlooking the sea, and has the most stunning architecture and castle turrets. Rushpool Hall offers exclusive use for civil ceremonies for up to 110 guests and evening receptions for up to 180. It has 20 stunning bedrooms for you and your guests, indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces, a fully equipped ‘getting ready room’ and even a private basement nightclub!
This shoot originally featured in issue 52. If yo’re planning your own spooky, gothic inspired nuptials or you believe Halloween should be a year-round celebration then you can still grab a copy here.
