Love, romance and second chances were the themes for Chandler and Nick’s October elopement. Having both had a traditional wedding in the past, they decided to break free from convention this time around and create an intimate and enjoyable experience for them alone. They found a cabin to stay in and had a handfasting ceremony with ribbon from Chandler’s aunt’s wedding dress. To top off the day, they did photos by the ocean and a hot tub party for two!
Chandler and Nick wrote their own vows, expressing the unique journey of their relationship in what they said. Al;though they were along, Chandler carried her family with her with a handkerchief from her dad and wearing rings from her mum and grandma. “We chose to elope, so it still felt like they were there with me,” she said.
After they got back from the honeymoon in the Maldives, they had a small reception for friends and family on Halloween weekend. They served fancy pizza, a hired bartender. It was casual, intimate and perfect!
Chandler is so pleased they decided to elope. She continued, “We didn’t have to feel pressure or rush around worrying about anyone but ourselves. We got to have a slow morning drinking coffee, eating breakfast and listening to music before the team arrived to help us get ready. Then, we got to get ready together before I put my dress on, so we truly spent the whole day together. It felt so fun and easy.”
