Rustic elements and warm tones take centre stage when it comes to styling a Western themed wedding, and this was the jumping off point for our issue 49 cover shoot. Our inspiration was taking that feeling of living in the vast, wild west – but making it accessible for those of us without the desert on our doorstep!
Our model’s natural red hair also influenced the colour palette – we used warm, nude tones with the slightest hint of black running throughout. Although there was a distinct lack of cacti or desert in the north London photo studio where this shoot took place, we did incorporate plenty of greenery, and the dried flower and pampas grass bouquet added some sandy tones in lieu of the Mojave!
There are a lot of ways to bring the cowgirl aesthetic to your aisle style. Cowboy boots, hats, themed jewellery… Or what about a subtle dash of prairie chic with dried grasses in your bouquet and lace in your dress? We hope that these images will encourage you to run wild and free for your own wedding day look.

One of the most fun and creative parts of my job is the editorial fashion shoots that I create with my INCREDIBLY TALENTED photo shoot team. For issue 10 (Sept/Oct 2016) we wanted to channel one of the original Rock n Roll couple: Elvis and Priscilla Presley. We used just one model, Tarla, who was actually the perfect Elvis and Priscilla, and we shot at Hotel Pelirocco in Brighton.

If you grew up in the 80s and early 90s you probably have fond memories of movies like The NeverEnding Story and Labyrinth. The Jim Henson fantasy film starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly was a particular favourite of ours, and the bubble scene and Sarah’s ball gown made for perfect inspiration for issue 40's editorial shoot.

OK hear me out, while 2020 sucked in many, MANY ways, also, it was kind of amazing. We got to spend time at home, we started to appreciate the small things, we realised just how lucky we are to have the NHS and we got to revaluate what is really important to us, too. While having to postpone your wedding was obviously a massive suckfest, it did give you more excuses to buy more issues of Rock n Roll Bride magazine soooooo who can really be mad about that!?
