After postponing their wedding twice due to border closures in Western Australia, Stef and Ryan finally managed to tie the knot in October. They wanted a laid back, county meet rock ‘n’ roll inspired day and chose Moore and Moore Café in Fremantle as their venue. They wanted to incorporate the the feeling of having a big barn dance where everyone was welcome.
“We had the full rock ‘n’ roll vibes with cowboy boots, whiskey shots at the bar and neon lights but with a country barn vibe”, the bride told us. “One of the groomsmen sang me down the aisle with one of my favourite songs. Our daughter was overwhelmed by all the people so, in the middle of the ceremony, everyone joined us in singing Baby Shark !”
“The whole day was a combination of laughs and tears, recounting the first stages of our relationship”, she continued. “I made all of the signs, mirrors, table settings and most of the décor. It was very fun to get my creative on! We exited at the end of the night through a wall of bubbles created by our guests.”
“The best thing about planning our wedding was knowing it was going to be one hell of a party and marrying my soul mate!”, the bride concluded. “Do what feels right with your loved one, fuck what people expect or have asked from you.”

Believe it or not, the 2004 rom-com A Cinderella Story was the starting point for the inspiration behind Gary and Amy’s August 2018 wedding day. “I’ve always loved the scene where he takes her for a dance in a gorgeous rotunda," said Amy. "It's filled with fairy lights and white roses and looks so magical, so that was the starting point for the vision for our day!”

An Intimate Australian Wedding & A Bride in Blue: Fiona & Andrew

August 17, 2012
Fiona & Andrew's DIY wedding in Victoria, Australia was themed around the things they love - vintage items, 1950s styling, cherries, hearts and flowers. They took these ideas as the starting point and built their wedding around them. "We wanted the guests to be able to feel as much a part of the day as possible, hence the small guest list of only 45 and the extended weekend long celebration", began the bride. "We made a lot ourselves. I made a ring cushion from the same fabric as my sash/bolero and a piece of fabric from my mum's wedding dress. We had a ring warming ceremony before I arrived where the cushion was brought around my my 5 year old nephew, Oliver, and guests where asked to send a blessing our way."

Travis and Erin challenged themselves to spend no more than $5000 on their wedding - and they did it! One of the key things about this wedding was that they kept it a secret from their guests. That's right, they had no idea they were going to a wedding that day... they all thought they were just there for an engagement party! The day was held at The Briars Homestead Garden, Mount Martha, Australia.
