If you’ve got yourself the new issue of Rock n Roll Bride magazine, then Devon and Isaac may look familiar because we featured their Tropical Cosmic Wonderland wedding in Mexico inside. Choosing to have a destination wedding did mean that many of their loved ones couldn’t attend though, so they decided to have a second reception at home. They hosted it in their own property, The Real Magic House, which they also hire out for events. The day had a vintage circus theme and guests were encouraged to dress the part… which they did!
“Isaac and I have always loved colour, the arts and festivals”, began the bride. “We definitely have a flair for the unusual and wanted to make sure that our wedding reflected our passion for creativity and unique aesthetics.”
“We wanted to hire some fun entertainment to really create the atmosphere of being at a circus, so Enticing Entertainment was our first call! It was so much fun to have their champagne server, guests were literally able to grab their glass of bubbly from the shelves on her dress! The stilt walker and lyra performer were magical additions to the day, everyone really just got to show up to play, have a blast, and bet a kid again for the day! Fire Truck Pizza was awesome too – it was wood-fire pizza ovens built inside of a vintage fire-truck.”
The reception set up and décor was almost all DIY. They designed and created their own centrepieces out of things like fun boxes, carnival tickets, pom poms and stickers. “We had a blast creating them together”. Devon said. “It also saved us a lot of money. We didn’t have a wedding planner, designer or rent any decorations.”
“Isaac and I are event planners and we just purchased a beautiful 135 year old Victorian home in Hudson that we have transformed into a unique special event venue for enchanting experiences of all kinds called The Real Magic House. It was awesome to get the chance to do everything in house and give the other half our wedding guests who couldn’t make it to Mexico an unforgettable experience!”
