Like many of you, Dreamland in Margate, Kent, hold a special place in our hearts at Rock n Roll Bride. After shooting editorial there ourselves for issue 18 of the magazine, we love to see how other teams imagine the kitsch amusement park in a completely different way.
Wedding planner Illy Goodall of Illy Elizabeth Weddings dreamed up a summer pastel meets floral bohemian theme, combining popping pastel vibes with dried floral clouds by Star + The Moon to compliment the venue itself for a modern take on the amusement park theme.
Shot by Pearce Wedding Photography , the team made the most of the amazing backdrops that Dreamland has to offer, showcasing their iconic rides and slide, and took the tablescape outside to feature the stunning Hollywood-style Dreamland sign to it’s fullest potential.
Leah from Boho & Bloom created a bespoke pastel ruffle wall just for the shoot, which setup as a cinema-style backdrop to compliment the indoor side of the theme park venue. The team focused on showcasing what the venue has to offer, paired with modern styling, to create wedding inspo we think you folks will love.

This shoot is certainly going to appeal to all you Whovians out there. Come on then, tell me, who's having Dr Who influences in their wedding? "Ever since I became a fan of Doctor Who I’d wanted to do a styled shoot and combine it with one of my other favourite things in life: weddings, of course!" explained photographer Kat Forsyth. "I’d seen a couple of Who-themed shoots around, but I always felt that none of them got it quite right; they were either really pretty, floral and sparkly, or a little too much like a cheesy costume party. I was sure that by assembling a hand-picked team of Doctor Who geeks (read: experts), we could come up with a shoot that not only captured the quirky and fun aspect of the show, but also the atmosphere."

Harnaam Kaur has polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which meant she started growing a beard from aged 11. Battling to remove her hair every day, and bullied at school, she started to self harm and considered suicide. Harnaam is now a body-confidence and anti-bullying activist and she fully embraces her unique look and hopes to encourage others to do the same. So when this bridal shoot using Harnaam as the model was submitted to me I nearly jumped out of my skin with excitement!

As an ex goth, I can’t help being attracted to dark art in general", began Lauren of French Made, who provided the cakes for this shoot. "Plus my recent obsession with the series called ‘Vikings’ and their Pagan way of life gave me inspiration. I was lucky enough to find a fabulous team of wedding suppliers as ready as I am to push the boundaries and willing to get involved and create the most eye pleasing alternative bridal styled shoot."

It's not often that I feature styled wedding shoots these days, quite simply because I have so many incredible real weddings to share with you! However when photographer Gary of Marshal Gray sent over this 'three brides' editorial that he shot at Belt Craft Studios, I had to bend my rule. I love the style of this session, especially how odd and slightly creepy it all is. This is certainly not something I see very often in wedding photography.
