Yes, you read that right, and this shoot might not be safe for work but oh man, is it awesome. I love how non-weddingy this wedding shoot is! Sure, you might not want to get your baps out for photos on your big day or cover your beloved’s beard is gold leaf, but you’ve gotta appreciate how damn amazing these models look, right?!
This was shot in The Glue Factory in Glasgow, a super rad, warehouse space which is available to hire for weddings. “I initially had an idea to shoot in an urban environment and really push the boundaries for a bridal styled shoot”, said Laura who did the hair and make up for the session. “I had always wanted to incorporate gold leaf with make up and finding the right environment and models that would embrace it. Our models were fantastic and loved how acceptable this look was if they were to get married. I also wanted a nod to Adam and Eve with the sprayed gold and copper apples. We didn’t use any flowers either, just foliage and ferns.”
“Also the ‘wedding dress’ was homemade!”, she continued. “We made this awesome skirt from layering fabric, raw silk and tulle and matched with a leather wraparound belt and a silk cami from H&M. We wanted to show that you can be creative with fabrics, layering and textures to create something that’s unique and creative to suit you!”
