Linda and Decky’s October 31st wedding was themed around – you guessed it – Halloween! But they also wanted to make it personal too.
“Our wedding theme was very much us, It was fun, eclectic and very, very personal!” said the bride. “We both take Halloween very seriously and dress up every year together. Our whole relationship is based on fun and we wanted to make sure that was the biggest part of our day. We wanted to let our imaginations run wild and always had thought a Halloween wedding would be a perfect celebration, even if our friends and family and random strangers had their doubts! In the end I think everyone was pleasantly surprised how it turned out.”
“One of the most fun parts was that we had fancy dress and we both destroyed our outfits with fake blood!”, she laughed. “In terms of decorations we dressed the entire function room and church on our own. We collected jam jars for two years that were then dressed in lace and ribbon and scattered around.”
“We sprayed wine bottles with gold, printed and designed our own order of service, designed and made our own table plan and guestbook tree, and cut all our own flowers. My mum made her own spooky themed shortbread for the evening do and my sister made Halloween themed cupcakes. We made our own sweet table and then prepped the room int he evening for a spooktacular evening with uplighters and Halloween decor.”
“Our favourite part of the wedding was the evening reception – all the formalities were over, we were married, happy and could just relax and enjoy the day with our favourite people. The only thing I’d change about the wedding is that I wish I hadn’t stressed so much in the lead up! The few months before were a bit hectic and it was for no reason at all as we were extremely organised and needn’t have worried!”
