Chelsea and Joe’s wedding took place at The Lake, White Colne, Essex. They hired a marquee and set up the wedding themselves in a field. The day had a bohemian, shabby chic and rustic vibe with lots oh homemade touches.
“The day started with a laid back humanist ceremony which focused on our love for each other”, said the bride. “We also wrote our own vows.”
“Most of the décor was DIY including the bunting, the centrepieces, the jars, postbox, guest book, table runners, name cards and wooden signs. We even made one of the bars. I loved being creative by making everything in the run up to the big day.”
“The only thing I wish I could change would be that the day would have lasted longer! It all went by so fast. My advice to other couples is to just focus on celebrating your love for each other with your nearest and dearest. Don’t get too carried away impressing anyone else and don’t stress. Enjoy the time planning it together.”

They had a church ceremony followed by a tea party reception in the gardens of Baxby Manor, a gorgeous 705 year old Manor house. "We knew that we wanted somewhere beautiful, and Baxby ticked all the boxes", Scarlett began. "It even came with a glamping site down the lane for all our guests to stay over! Baxby isn't a wedding venue, just a luxury holiday letting, but the owners were amazing and let us create a beautiful day there, as if it were our own house."

Chris and Emmy were married early in the day, so they wanted to lay on lots of entertainment for their guests. "We wanted a day that was relaxed, fun and family-friendly", wrote the bride. "We had our humanist hand fasting ceremony at 10:30 in the morning, so we wanted to make sure there was plenty for our guests to do throughout the day. We go to a lot of festivals and run a dance tent with my family called the Griffin Tent, so we used that as a starting point, using the marquee and having a pub quiz and live bands in the afternoon. The river running through Loudwater Farm is the same river we both played in as children (we've known each other since we were 11!), so we had fishing nets and wellies for everyone to paddle. We added archery, circus toys, dreamcatcher making and an art and crafts den, and finished up with a silent disco."
