There’s definitely a fascination with Marilyn going on at the moment. Just two weeks ago I shared a shoot recreating her wedding, and today I have another, this time of some of her most iconic boudoir photo shoots!
The concept and styling came from the mind of Corie of Vigilante Cosmetics . It was photographed by William of Six Hearts Photography and the model was his wife Schellie! “I wanted to do this shoot because it turned me on”, William explained.
“Our model, my wife, was contacted by Corie of Vigilante Cosmetics because she really wanted to do a 50s pin up inspired boudoir session. However they decided to surprise me with this iconic photo shoot recreation. They drew inspiration from Marilyn’s many bed sessions , her most iconic dress , and her scarf series. “

Joelle & Jake's shoot was described to me as "intimate, organic and unique" by their photographer Anna Jones and I really couldn't say it any better. Somewhere between a boudoir, a day in the life and a wedding portrait shoot, these images that took my breath away as soon as I saw them. Perfectly honest and stunningly peaceful. They are just utterly, utterly beautiful and everything a couple shoot should be.

I have a love/hate relationship with boudoir photography. On the one hand, I think every gal should have the opportunity to feel sexy, and being photographed with that pre-wedding glow - either as a gift for your beloved or a treat to yourself - is a great way to boost the confidence. However I don't generally feature that many of these shoots, because, forgive me, but a lot of the ones I see are somewhat tacky... or trashy... or just not very sexy at all. Whoever decided feather boas can make the transition from hen do tack to boudoir class needs a stern talking to. There are exceptions of course, but in my experience they are few and far between.
Well I'm pleased as punch to report that, again, I've been proved wrong with today'

That may well be the oddest blog post title I've ever written but either way...
I have a love/hate relationship with boudoir. I'm sure I've written about this before, but while I love the thought of girls celebrating their bodies, stripping off and feeling sexy, I've just seen all to many boudoir shoots that are, forgive me, but so so wrong. A bit tacky, kinda cheesy or just plain slutty. Yeah, I said it... so sue me.
But this is not one of those cases.
