I have an early Christmas gift for you… a teeny sneak peek of issue 6!! Isn’t she a beauty ?! I seriously can’t wait for you to see the full thing, and there’s not long to wait because its on sale on January 7th.
For those of you that are extra impatient, we’ll be taking pre-orders from first thing Saturday morning . So if turkey, tinsel and family politics get all too much, make your excuses and pop by our shop page on Boxing Day and order yourself a treat for the new year. We will also be able to accept new subscribers then too, what a great way to spend any Christmas money (lucky you!)
Whatever you’re up to tomorrow I hope you have a fantastic day. As always, we’re off to my parents’ house for the full works. I’m definitely not a traditional girl, but when it comes to Christmas I want all the trimmings!
Thank you for making 2015 such an incredible year for Rock n Roll Bride. I’m taking a proper break from now until January 4th (when the veil collection launches!!) and between now and then I plan to eat my body weight in roast potatoes, throw as much glitter around as I can get away with, and take copious afternoon naps. However there will be a couple of sneaky posts on the blog between now and then, I couldn’t go leaving you completely high and dry now could I!?

I know many of you have been reading for a while, but with a new year rolling in it's always nice to start afresh and take the time to reintroduce myself to anyone who might be new around these parts. I published an Idiot's Guide to Rock n Roll Bride this time last year, so if you haven't already you should definitely check it out to help you get your bearings. A few things have changed since January 2014 (and not just my hair colour!) so I'm quickly going to go over them now.

Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe that this is actually my life. While it isn't rainbows, unicorns and kittens all of the time, and I've never worked longer or harder, I am undeniably grateful that I get to do something I love every single day.
Eight years ago today I posted my very first article on this blog. I was working at a shopping channel and although I enjoyed it most of the time, there was always a undercurrent of sadness in my life. The "Is this really it?" mentality. This was something that had been following me ever since I was 14 years old. I'm sure some of you already know that I had a tough time growing up. I had depression, I self harmed, I had an eating disorder, I even tried to kill myself on more than one occasion. I remember around that time my mother would always say to me, "God had a plan" and "You can't give up, you are destined for the most wonderful things". Now, I'm not sure about the whole God thing, but even in my darkest moments I did quietly hope that she was right, and that one day I'd wake up and have it all figured out.

All will be properly revealed really soon, but needless to say I'm pretty darn excited about it. Could this be a Rock n Roll Bride Magazine? ...And a FREE one at that?
If you want to find out exactly what's been going on then you'll need to come see me at the The Designer Vintage Bridal Show in Birmingham next weekend, where I'll be handing out copies of this new little venture of mine for absolutely nadda. Tickets for the show can be purchased online here.

This isn't something I ever thought I'd write about on this blog. In fact I toyed with the idea of whether or not I should actually post this for ages. But instead of trying to think about it too much I just started typing to see where it would go... writing is cathartic for me and I really just felt like I wanted to get this all out of my head. I'd decide whether to publish it or not later.

Six Things I’ve Learnt in Six Years of Marriage
Kat
April 11, 2014
Tomorrow is Gareth and my six year wedding anniversary. Instead of writing yet another "Oh I love him so much, he is my rock, without him I am nothing..." blog post (It's true by the way but... well... you know... snoooooze) I thought I'd share six of the most important lessons I've learnt in these six short years.

Rock n Roll Bride for Crown and Glory: Autumn/Winter 2013

October 21, 2013
Not content with just doing one collection together, Sophie of Crown and Glory and I decided early on in our collaboration that an Autumn/Winter range would need to be on the cards. Of course I love the rainbow, neon pop insanity of the first collection but I was also really excited to get a little bit deep, dark and moody for this second incarnation

It’s Finally Here! Issue 2 of Rock n Roll Bride Print Magazine Available Now!
Kat
July 30, 2012
It's here! It's finally here! To say creating issue 2 of Rock n Roll Bride Magazine has been a labour of love would be an understatement of epic proportions. When Gareth & I made the decision late last year to create a second edition of the magazine after the unanticipated appreciation over issue 1 (which was initially conceived to just be a free handout at a wedding show), not in a million years did we think it would take so long... and take so much out of us. Dear God, I have a new found respect for everyone who works in the print industry. I won't bore you with the trials and tribulations we've had along the way, but rest assured that magazines are hard work. But when 50-odd boxes of something we created were delivered to our house on Friday, it all suddenly felt worth it. I have never been so proud!

Rock n Roll Bride Magazine Is Coming To A Store Near You!

September 1, 2014
Last week I announced that I am going to stop producing new issues of the Rock n Roll Bride print magazine so that I can work on other exciting opportunities. Since then I’ve been flooded with messages from readers telling me how sad they are to read that news. Well, I’ve got a small, teensy confession to make… I haven’t been entirely honest with you.
