Julie and Arthur wanted something colourful and relaxed, with a Latino and ethnic touches to reflect the bride’s Colombian heritage. The wedding took place in France in June.
“We wanted more on an American style wedding”, said the bride. “We wanted to be outside and we didn’t want a traditional church ceremony. We rented this amazing house with a view over the ocean for a week. This gave us time to prepare everything and to welcome our family and friends for longer. It was more like a holiday with a wedding in the middle!”
“There were so many fun moments. We loved setting everything up together – re-potting cactus, installing the decorations, improvising making our own lemonade! We were wonderfully helped by our brothers and sisters.”
“The best bit of the day was, without a doubt, the ceremony”, she explained. “It is not usual to be surrounded by so much love and goodwill, to listen speeches and kind words that feel so good. Our advice to other couples would be to do what you want for your wedding. Don’t listen to sceptical people who don’t understand your vision!”

Sigh! I just adore weddings liked Mark and Erika's. Chilled out, not at all matchy-matchy and where everyone looks like they had a total blast. The couple didn't wait a 'tick the box' wedding, instead they pulled inspiration from all over - their heritage, their home and their friends. "We didn't really have a theme or colours that matched", Erika wrote. "I have always been a mis-match kind of girl so we had elements of our backgrounds so Japan / Yorkshire / countryside / Autumn / vintage/ boho!"

So many people contributed to making the wedding as amazing as it was – it really was a family affair and those invites, certainly a labour of love!"
