Claire and Jon planned their wedding in just five months. They were hitched at St Julians, a private members club in Sevenoaks, Kent.”Planning the wedding in just 20 weeks wasn’t that difficult”, began the bride. “As soon as we booked our venue we were shopping for decorations, favours, things for the tables… We made a lot of it ourselves and it was nice to have some personal touches to the day. Our venue was absolutely stunning with awesome views and such a beautiful building.”
Claire wore a Stuart Parvin dress with Irregular Choice shoes, “As soon as I saw those sheep shoes I knew I had to have them!” she laughed. “My shoes were a huge statement – sheep shoes, spring wedding, what more could a girl want!?”
“One of the things everybody loved was our entertainment. To to add bit of the 50s to our day we had a lovely singer called Vintage Lianna. She sang for us after dinner and her voice, appearance and song choices were just perfect. I would highly recommend her to any other 50s fans out there! Our evening entertainment was the complete opposite but still on that same level of awesomeness. We had a band called the Wedding Crashers. They sang live and in between breaks they had a DJ set so we had the best of both.”
“There’s not a lot that we would do differently about the wedding”, she concluded, “except maybe just invited a few more people. My other advice (which my mother gave me and I didn’t really understand what she meant until the day after our wedding) was ‘soak up every second of the day’. It goes so fast and it was really hard to just get a moment to take it all in.”
“I was so nervous walking down the aisle that I didn’t look at anyone but the man waiting for me at the other end. I wish I had looked around at all the faces of our friends and family. But with thanks to the ever so talented Emma at ELS Photography we can re-live every moment just by looking at our wonderful photos. ”
