Tor and June met online. He was living in London and she was in Hamburg. After arranging to meet in person, June decided to move to London to be with him! They were married four years later back in Germany.
“We wanted our wedding to be a contrast”, June told me. “We had classical elements mixed with punk rock. My dress was quite traditional but I showed off my tattoos! Our theme was ‘vintage Rock n Roll meets classic meets punk’.”
The wedding was held at Das Bauernhaus , “The best bit of the wedding was the ceremony but also the music gig at the end”, she continued. “We also made each other special gifts. I made him a surprise video and all his friends and relatives contributed and he gave me a box containing 12 vouchers for different treats, one for every month of our first married year.”
“The only thing I wish we’d done differently was to have hired a wedding planner”, she concluded, “the stress was immense! However everything turned out perfectly in the end.”

Sandra and Hendrik were together for 12 years before they were married. They met in August 2004 at a funfair and distinctly remember the smell of popcorn filling the air. They wanted to recreate their first meeting at their wedding, so decided it should be funfair themed. They also wanted their wedding day to be a celebration with their loved ones while listening to great music and, of course, with the smell of popcorn in the air again.

Daisy and Leigh's retro wedding themed came about because they knew they wanted anything but a traditional day. "We decided to go down the retro/ vintage theme, but I also didn't want it to be the typical ‘vintage’ wedding style that is everywhere at the moment!" Daisy wrote. "I also didn't want a traditional sit-down meal so we had afternoon tea complete with cocktails served in teapots. The wedding eventually became about all of the things we love from the 1950s to the 1990s! I wanted our wedding to be really unpretentious and for everyone to have lots of fun."

I don't think there's a style of wedding that epitomises a Rock n Roll wedding more than a black, white and red colour scheme and a 1950s theme! Lidia and Joaquín's nuptials were held in La Quinta de Illescas, Toledo, Spain.

Amy and Steve got engaged while on a road trip around America and so an American themed wedding seemed like the most perfect option for them! These guys didn't go for a subtle homage though, they went all out! "Our wedding was a little slice of American pie", Amy began. "We got engaged two years ago on a road trip around the southern states of America. Steve got down on one knee over a BBQ of ribs and beer in the mountains of Virginia. It was the perfect setting and was amongst many aspects of that trip that made it one of our most memorable journeys together."

Liz and Bryan were married at the famous Madonna Inn in California. The day was a beautiful mish-mash of a vintage candy store and a retro tattoo shop. "We really wanted to keep our wedding upbeat and light-hearted", wrote the bride. "I think the temporary tattoos, candy, giant wood cut outs and photo booth helped create a really fun environment. Halfway through the night the photo booth props became a part of the wedding and we had groomsmen in capes and dresses as the Hulk and Spiderman on the dance floor. It made the pictures hilarious."

I joked on Facebook recently that the way to get blogged on Rock n Roll Bride is clearly to have a cat theme to your wedding, because this is the forth one I've featured in so many weeks (the others are here, here and here)! I stand by my convictions though, cat weddings are awesome. End of discussion.
