I’ve featured my fair share of superhero and generally geeky themed weddings on Rock n Roll Bride , but I think today’s might have just become my new favourite. Becky and Kris wanted a Marvel comic theme!
“We both love comic books and all things geeky, so we decided to have Marvel’s Avengers and Lego themed wedding”, said the bride. “We had a the Lego Avengers table plan, superhero masks as favours and handmade Avengers shoes! We made comic book signs and giant letters. We made most of it ourselves so we could go as crazy as we liked!”
“One of the best bits of the day was when Spiderman showed up in the evening!” she laughed. “He had a little dance with us both and posed for photos!”
“Our biggest expense was our venue, but it was worth spending a little extra on. However we saved by doing all the decorations ourselves. Our advice to other couples would be to enjoy every minute, take time out during the day for the two of you and book a great photographer!”
“We had Mike and Tom and could not have been happier. They were professionals from the start. Their reportage style of photography was exactly what we wanted and none of the posing was awkward. We ended up with lots of natural pictures of us holding hands and smiling at each other, and we knew then we had made the right choice.”

Happy Monday you lovely little critters - have I got a wedding to start this week off with a bang or what!?
Unusually I was actually submitted this wedding by the groom and via twitter because his gorgeous bride, Holly, was nervous about doing so. Er, girl, are you KIDDING me?! I'm dying over your wedding. The comic book, superhero and geek chic radness is just too good. This is one of those weddings that I genuinely wish I'd been invited to!

They met online and with a mutual love of all things nerdy (their first date was eating cheese toasties and watching Dark Crystal) they connected instantly. They were married in August at Sole Street House in Kent. "Our theme evolved into a relaxed, geeky garden party", wrote Kirsty. "Vintage touches and having the full day to relax into the venue meant that it felt very natural and laid-back. We picked a colour theme of teal and asked all of our guests to wear something to match. As time went on, it became green and blue in all of the shades but it meant that we could relax about a 'theme' and still have everything come together."

When my favourite vintage wedding dress shop launched their own, self designed, collection based on vintage styles (but able to be sized up to a Uk size 22!) I was super excited to be able to host an exclusive competition for one of my readers to win one. Alongside Fur Coat No Knickers founders and designers Emma and Laura, I read every single entry, eventually picking the gorgeous Diana as our winner. Her story touched our hearts and we were all so honoured to be able to fulfil her dream to feel beautiful on her wedding day.

I'm definitely not only of those girly girls. I favour a bold and modern aesthetic over pretty pastels any day. But Joey & Mike's wedding slayed me when it landed in my inbox recently. And 'pretty' is really the only word I can use to best describe what I saw.

Tattoos, tears and a seriously cute couple. Toni & Colin's wedding is what my dreams are made of. These guys are THE perfect Rock n Roll couple and they're wedding slays me. Plus they had Sassy of Assassynation as their wedding photographer so they instantly go way up in the cool stakes with me!
The wedding was held at The Quay, Musselburgh, on 10th November. "Colin and I met online what feels like a life time ago but wasn't all that long ago in the grand scheme of things", Toni began. "We spoke for a month or so online and then he made plans to come over from Northern Ireland to visit me in Edinburgh. 'I'll come for the weekend,' he said. Well, he arrived and he's yet to leave! We've lived together from day one and, including the night before the wedding, we are yet to spend one single night apart. It's a good job he makes me laugh as much as he does!"

"Regula & Bruno rock my world"...that's how photographer Assassynation introduced me to this bad ass couple when she sent me their wedding. The pair are from Belgium but wanted to be married in England. Their ceremony day was followed by a tea party reception and spooky photo shoot in an abandoned fairground (!) in their home country a few weeks later. Luckily for us all, this second part took place just last weekend and believe me, I'm going to be featuring it just as soon as the photos are ready!
But for now, it's all about the ceremony...
