Oh I do love seeing a bride who’s brave with her wedding outfit. Mind you, if I had Stephanie’s figure I’d most likely be wearing a jumpsuit every day of my life! She married Ben in February at a cottage that they rented in Kauai, Hawaii.
The New York couple fell in love on the islands north shore, so it was only fitting they returned there to get married. “Our wedding theme was ‘no stress’!”, began the bride. “I even surprised Ben and hired a private yoga instructor in the morning of the wedding for a couples yoga session. Wanted to set the tone for the day.”
“The best bit of the day was watching the sun rise with a cup of coffee and exchanging our personal vows. A magical moment. Also, seeing Ben’s jaw dropped and hearing him say ‘Am I marrying Beyonce today?’ when he saw me for the first time before the ceremony! My jumpsuit was Gucci and my shoes were Charlotte Olympia. I decided to wear a jumpsuit instead of a traditional wedding dress as coming from a fashion background, I knew I wanted a statement piece, something designer and well made. I did the go to a bridal boutique and try on a princess gown thing. It just wasn’t me.”
“Ben and I are both artists, so it was important some of our photos were shot with film as well as some digital”, she continued. “We insisted Michelle of Island Reflection Photography get creative with the photos and have fun! She exceeded our expectations.”
“Our biggest expense was hiring the private cottage on nine acres for the elopement. We’ve travelled all around the world and the cottage is the most beautiful place we’ve ever stayed. I knew from the first time I ever stepped foot on the property, that’s where I would marry Ben. However obviously eloping saved is lots of money!”
“Our wedding really was perfect, there is nothing we would change. I think it’s okay to be selfish and have the wedding you want. It’s your day!”
