The phrase “It’s been a whirlwind” were coined for weeks like this one. WHOA, you guys, WHOOOOOOAAAAAA!
So, in case you missed the news, on Monday I announced that Rock n Roll Bride print magazine is going national! Oh yeah baby, I’m going to be the editor in chief of an actual, legit wedding magazine, available in real life shops.
Since I spilled the beans there’s been a lot of recurring questions so I’ll do my best to address them all right now.
International availability: it’s definitely in the plan to distribute the magazine around the world, however print distribution isn’t that straightforward unfortunately. This may not happen right away, but its 100% in the grand plan. However, on launch there will be an iPad version for those of you that can’t get your mitts on physical copies! YAY!
Submissions: I will be dealing with real wedding submissions as usual. If you’d like to submit your wedding for either the blog or magazine, just follow my super-simple submissions guide.
Jobs & freelance writers: We are hiring for the magazine, so if you’d be interested in applying, please email your CV and a covering letter to rachelsouthwood@giraffe-media.co.uk.
Advertising: If you run a business that would be interested in advertising in the new magazine, you can email craig@giraffe-media.co.uk.
Stockists: If you have a shop and you’d be interested in stocking the mag, you can also email craig@giraffe-media.co.uk.
Subscriptions: Will you be able to get a monthly subscription and have the magazine delivered direct to your door? Short answer: HELL YES! More info to follow.
Launch date: I’ll be shouting (loudly!) when the first issue hits the shops, so don’t you worry. We are currently aiming for an October launch, which is SO SOON! I’m trying not to think about how much work I have to do between now and then!
Again, thank you SO MUCH for all your amazing comments this week. It’s made this bloomin’ exciting time even more exciting. I can not WAIT to see the first one on the newsstands. I’ll probably cry. So if you happen to shop in Morrisons in Reading, you might want to look out for a sobbing pink mess on launch day!
I think that’s everything for now. Again, thank you thank you thank you!!
Here’s what else has been going on around the web over the past seven days.
♥ I’ll be at the Cosmopolitan #FashFest in London on 18th September. It looks like it’s going to be a really fun night and if you’d like to come along too, tickets are £55. If you spot me, come and say hi!
♥ Also on September 18th, I’m going to be guest speaking at the Photography Farm Elements workshop with Lisa Devlin, also in London. This is a two day professional wedding photography workshop and costs £300 per day or £550 if you come for both.
