Sarah and Brandin were married at South Coast Winery in California. They both love black, the dramatic and romantic gothic style in their everyday lives, so having this as the theme of their wedding was a no brainer.
“We were supposed to have an outdoor ceremony but it ended up pouring with rain for our wedding weekend”, began the bride. “I was also almost late to the rehearsal dinner because a road I needed to take was closed due to a mudslide. I did make it but slightly drenched!”
“We had a lot of unique touches in our wedding including my black dress and the fact that we had bagpipes leading me me down the aisle. He played an Irish tune instead of the the traditional bridal chorus. My favorite part of the day was was when the doors opened to the ceremony and I got to see Brandin and all my friends and family.”

Melissa and Heder’s wedding was gothic romance themed day in September. The couple exchanged vows at the St. Francis Chapel, an architectural gem tucked inside Balboa Park’s Museum of Us. “We love history, art, and architecture, and our venues reflect that,” Melissa says. “The chapel looks like something out of an old Catholic church, but it’s actually an exhibit. It’s unconsecrated, which made it feel like we were bending the rules just a little.”

A Black Wedding Dress, A Traditional Church Wedding & A Burlesque Themed Reception: Scarlet & Craig

Scarlet & Craig's wedding wowed me as soon as I spied that dress. I was so excited to be able to share this incredible Goth extravaganza and luckily for you lot, so were the newlyweds. In fact Craig's reply when I emailed him back saying 'Yes yes, hell yes (ps your wife is hot)' was something along the lines of 'OMG so excited that you're going to feature us!!! Squeeee'.
"I'd never really thought about my wedding day growing up, so when Craig proposed on a trip to Amsterdam (with a tattoo that simply said 'Marry Me' on his wrists!) I was thrown into a bit of a panic!" Scarlet explained. "But as soon as we started planning we knew we wanted to do things our own way. Luckily we found Rock n Roll Bride, which made us realise there really are no 'rules' for a wedding, and then we just went all out! We didn't start out with one, but as we went along we developed a kind of pink and black gothic fairytale theme, pink being my favourite colour, and black being Craig's!

When someone says "destination wedding" I automatically think of a boho style affair, with the bride and groom all in white (her in a floaty gown and him in a white linen suit) walking down a sun-drenched sandy beach barefoot. So you can imagine what a welcome surprise it was to be presented with something that's the complete antithesis to that. These guys are the epitome of mean, moody and cool!
