Stephanie and Sebastian travelled from their home in Germany to have a teeny tiny elopement ceremony on a dry lake bed just outside of Vegas. The bride wore a homemade dress and headpiece, and she arranged her own bouquet with flowers from Whole Foods. They brought lawn flamingos as décor and Mexican blankets to use as props for their photos.
“We tried to skip all the typical Vegas wedding things and keep it simple and cool”, wrote the bride “so we just head out of town! Luckily we found our wide open space in the middle of the desert and got married beside our beautiful friends. My friend played on the ukulele and sang after the ceremony which was very emotional.”
“The desert view was just spectacular and was our favourite thing about the wedding. We also loved how affordable it was. I did my own hair and make up and we went to the grocery store the day before and picked all my favourite flowers for my bouquet and crown. There is nothing we would change about how we got married. It was just perfect!”

Jordan & Michael wanted a wedding that truely reflected them and the things they love, so they grabbed their children and were married in private on top of a mountain in Canada. "Our inspiration was definitely nature and our love of hiking", explained the bride. "We chose Gros Morne National Park in the beautiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador known for its mountainous terrain and unbelievable views. This in our minds made the perfect backdrop for our quiet intimate ceremony. We knew that hiking boots were a must so why not include them on our special day? We kept our attire simple and clean and focused on more important details like the photography and the food!"

Unpretentious & Family-Focused DIY Wedding in Anglesey: Anna & Adam

I'm not gonna lie, I've been looking forward to featuring Anna and Adam's wedding for a while. Anna is a wedding photographer herself, and I'm a big fan of her work, so I knew her own wedding would be something special. The wedding was 100% DIY. They picked a venue that wasn't specifically for weddings, but meant a great deal for them. They didn't want to spend a lot of money, so did most things as frugally as possible. Their main concern was that the day involved all the special people in their lives.
The wedding took place by the sea in Anglesey in May. "We didn't have a wedding theme as such", began Anna, "we just wanted it to be colourful, relaxed, fun, full of laughs, unpretentious, family-focused and very much DIY and personalised to us and the people and things we love. We wanted everyone there to feel special and comfortable and get involved as much as they wanted to. Lots of weddings focus just on the bride and groom, but to us it was also very much a day about our wonderful group of friends and family. We’re both incredibly close to them and it was really important to us to celebrate the fact that we weren't just coming together as a couple, but also as part of a precious larger community."

If there's one thing I'm never seen without, its something bright and colourful on top of my head. And as the weather gets warmer, I'm rocking my flower crown collection as often as possible - the bigger and brighter the better I say! So it goes without saying really that I was pretty darn excited when I saw Kayleigh's bridal ensemble. I know that if I was getting married now, I'd so be wearing something like this. Also check out her amazing nail art. Daaaamn this girl's got style!

Colourful Las Vegas Wedding During a Family Holiday

Nay and Oli planned to marry in Vegas on a family holiday in October. "We decided to tie our wedding into a family trip to Vegas for my father's 60th birthday," the bride explained. "The priority for us was no fuss, we’d already hijacked the family holiday, we wanted it quick and simple. We decided to do it this way as I thought it’d be a crime to go to Vegas and not get married, so I proposed to Oli using a ring which a jeweller friend had made, and stuck it in a fortune cookie which I'd made and decorated with our three year old son!"
