Adam and Amanda love steampunk and so the theme for their wedding was an obvious choice. They wanted to get their guests into the spirit of their wedding so they asked them to dress in costumes too… and they all did! Amanda’s dress was from Viola Lahger which she wore with a little hat by Linekka and Adam’s outfit was pieced together from items found at flea markets.
The couple did a lot of things themselves for their wedding including the signage, the paper goods and most of the décor in the reception room.
“Make use of playful inspiration and let your dreams and interests shine through on your wedding”, Amanda advises. “Many people may have opinions about how you should have your wedding but do not let it depress your wishes. This will always be your day and allow it to cost a bit it is worth it! For us it has not just been about a single day, but also the planning.”
“It can feel like waiting for Christmas with all the preparations and crafts. All the anticipation and commitment was almost as much fun as the actual wedding day. Oh and leave your cell phone with a friend – NOTHING interesting will happen on Facebook! We had an unplugged wedding and it was amazing!”

When logistically it just wasn't possible for Ann & Martin to marry on Halloween as they'd originally planned, they still knew they wanted their wedding to have a spooky gothic theme. The whole day was heavily influenced by Tim Burton.

I receive upwards of 50 submissions on a daily basis, and needless to say I do see a lot of very similarly styled weddings. So when a wedding like Leslie & Collin's lands in my inbox I'm over the moon, thrilled and super duper excited to feature it because it's just so different. I'm totally losing my cool over this theme and the way the couple executed it. They also planned and styled the entire wedding themselves, making it a million percent more awesome in my book.

Jojo and Andy were married in August at Nettlestead Place, Kent. While the groom wasn't too bothered about having a big wedding, the bride wanted something special and so a steampunk theme it was! She wore a corset from Baba Studio with an AMAZING purple and turquoise skirt, made for her by Sisters of the Moon on Etsy. Her biker boots were from eBay.

I always have a bit of a soft spot for Steampunk weddings. Although they're not my personal style, I love how much effort the couples that plan them put in. The attention to detail is always incredible! Sadie and Kyle's wedding at Fiddle Lake Farm in Thompson, Pennsylvania was no different.

Spring has very much sprung over here in the UK. And as the daffodils start to line streets and parkways, I usually forgo featuring any obviously winter weddings. After all, who want to be reminded of the cold and bleak mid-winter when it's so glorious outside?! Well Meghann & Nathan's wedding was different. They were married in the Colorado Mountains, where snow is a pretty regular feature. They also had a steampunk theme and only spent $2000 on the day, making it a wedding that I just knew you guys would flip out about. So, yet again, my self-imposed rules are being broken today. Oh well!

Erica and Philip were married in Sweden in October. Philip proposed on their seven year anniversary, and wanting an Autumn wedding but not wanting to wait over a year, they planned their wedding in just four months!
The reception was held in a beautiful orangery owned by one of the bride's friends. It is located right by one of the Sweden's biggest lakes and was an incredible backdrop. Because it is a privately owned, the venue rarely hosts parties so the couple had a lot of work to do to make it look amazing... but they certainly pulled it off! Having such a blank canvas meant they were really able to put their own stamp on their day.

Garrett and Joelle's June wedding was held at Epikos Church and Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee. The day had a vintage and steampunk theme and was full of emotional and special moments. "Garrett wrote me a really special note and a poem that I read in the morning. I love that we got photos of that moment because it was really emotional", Joelle wrote. "One of my favorite moments though was when we prayed together before the wedding and held hands on either side of a door. That was a really amazing moment and reminded us of why we were getting married in the first place."
