If a simple, emotional and beautiful wedding is what you’re after, then let me introduce you to Pieter and Noortje. Married in the Botanical Gardens in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, their wedding had a natural, organic and bohemian vibe. Their reception was held at De Waard van Kekerdom , a bar in Kekerdom, where they had a simple meal followed by an after party!
“We tried to make our wedding as personal as possible, with our own camper, a choir of 30 family members in the church and the band from the cafe where we met each other”, explained the bride. “We had our ceremony in a garden and afterwards had a simple but delicious meal at a not too fancy but very cosy restaurant. We didn’t want anything to be too cliché, we just tried to make it simple but very personal. A lot of our retro bohemian hippie kind of taste came through too, as well as our love for nature and being outside.”

Abigail and Lisa's wedding was eco, natural and laid back. Held at Wise Wedding Venue in Kent they did the majority of the décor themselves, or at the very least put their own personal spin on everything. Both girls opted for non-traditional wedding day outfits, and wore two suits each throughout the celebrations. To fit with the natural and eco wedding idea they had wooden rings made from paddock wood by Simply Wood Rings based in Chicago.

Woodland Nymphs

How do I even begin to describe a wedding like this? Eco? Hippy Chic? Organic? Ourdoorsy? Woodland nymph-like? Musical? Midsummer Night's Dream-esque? None of these words seem to do any kinda of justice to this beautiful wedding.
Samuel & Jessica were married in Moravian falls at Pennel Horse farm. They wanted they day to have a raw and natural feel with a bit of mystical charm and simplicity. "They defined their wedding by what they love and not what tradition says to do", photographer Shelley told me "so they combined some common elements of the wedding ceremony, seasoned with of a little bit of hippie, funk, vintage and organic charm. Every little thing was a reflection of who they are as individuals and as a couple."
Their bridal/groomal parties were huge and the woods were filled with light and music from the lanterns they all carried and the drums they played. The ceremony was a really emotional one (as you can see from the video below) the pair washed each other's feet and Sam even sang and played guitar to his new wife. The reception looks like a blast! The guests ate great organic food and they danced into the night around a giant bonfire.
Jessica's dress was by Amalia Cararra. She bought her dress at "Stardust Celebrations" in Dallas, Texas, where she she was spotted by the creators of a new reality show on WEtv called "Girl Meets Dress." The couple's love story will be aired March 9th as the premier episode! Be sure to check out a snippet of their wedding video below as a little sneaky peak!
Thanks to Shelley, Jess & Sam for sharing their a.m.a.z.i.n.g ceremony and wedding with us (and yes, there are over 100 photographs in this post but I had to include them all!)

Tyler & Kristen were married at Camp Sky Ranch in Boone, NC. The inspiration for their day was a 'bohemian family cookout' with nods to the 'flower power' and 'peace & love' vibes of the 1960s. The barefoot bride wore a simple dress from Rosa Clara with vintage jewellery and a flower garland in her hair.

Oh yes! I am so excited by Kamela & Brian's vintage/eco/organic/outdoor wedding. The couple made wedding choices that were totally perfect for them and ignored a lot of the usual wedding industry rubbish. They got married at their Grandparent's house in Vancouver and had the super personal reception in their back garden.

Chris and Emmy were married early in the day, so they wanted to lay on lots of entertainment for their guests. "We wanted a day that was relaxed, fun and family-friendly", wrote the bride. "We had our humanist hand fasting ceremony at 10:30 in the morning, so we wanted to make sure there was plenty for our guests to do throughout the day. We go to a lot of festivals and run a dance tent with my family called the Griffin Tent, so we used that as a starting point, using the marquee and having a pub quiz and live bands in the afternoon. The river running through Loudwater Farm is the same river we both played in as children (we've known each other since we were 11!), so we had fishing nets and wellies for everyone to paddle. We added archery, circus toys, dreamcatcher making and an art and crafts den, and finished up with a silent disco."

Filipino born Ariane & Jonathan now live in New Zealand, which is where they chose to have their May wedding. The 3pm ceremony was held at in the vineyard of the Ascension Wine Estate in Matakana. "We wanted to showcase how New Zealand is part paradise and part home with our wedding, Ariane told me. "Marrying in a vineyard in the dead of autumn, what could be more gorgeous than that? Ascension Wine Estate was the perfect backdrop for us. The theme was a mish-mash of our passion for travel, photography, literature and the French countryside. We didn't really set something in stone, but in the end, the travel-bohemian theme dominated, with hints of shabby chic and vintage."
