Musician Kat married Doug at Mercy Lounge at The Cannery Ballroom in Nashville. Being so heavily influenced by music, the couple didn’t want a traditional wedding and so picked a dramatic black & red colour scheme which worked perfectly in the industrial-looking venue. Dripping candles, dramatic candelabras, deep red roses and black table cloths all added to the slightly gothic vibe of the wedding.
“We didn’t want to do the expected wedding colors or look”, explained the bride. “I wanted things to feel dramatic and passionate and almost be on the verge of spooky or cryptic without being too over the top with it. Red and black were the colors we were working around, complete with a deep red wedding cake which was awesome! The venue was a perfect fit for the vibe, with the metal chandeliers and moody lighting.”
“I would describe our wedding theme it as dramatic, vintage metal, ” she continued. “I can’t just pick one favorite part of the wedding though. It was everything. I think it all came together even better then I envisioned it! It was perfect.”
Kat wore an elegant fishtail gown with lace detailing and Steve Madden shoes. Her groom and his groomsmen wore custom made red ties and black suits.
Thank you to Kat & Doug and their wedding photographer Ariel Renae for sharing with us today.

February 8, 2013
The New Jersey wedding of Lauren & Justin took place in October and had a vintage gothic theme. Red, black and white were the colours of choice and everything, although mostly handmade by the bride and her mother, had a really elegant twist.
"My mother and I planned this entire wedding ourselves" wrote Lauren. "We had help here and there from my father, husband and even my mother in law. I think I should also mention I work six days a week so all planning was crammed into my only day off.. Sundays... and the little bit of time after work if I had energy!"

Mr & Mrs Tattooboy’s Heavily Tattooed, Ass Kickin’ Rockabilly Wedding
Kat
January 7, 2011
Do you remember Mr & Mrs Tattooboy? The hot tattooed couple behind one of my favourite ever engagement sessions? Well check it out - they got hitched and I've got the exclusive on their killer wedding. When the couple first met, Kori was a cheerleader and Matt was a rocker and a tattooed artist. They soon fell in love and Kori starting getting just as much ink as her man!
"Kori & Matt’s aka Mr. & Mrs. Tattooboy, have this incredible rockabilly style & then some!!!" photographer Christina told me. "When I asked Kori about the details of her wedding she just told me she wanted it to be different from the normal-cheesy-blah type weddings, this made me really happy that she wasn’t giving in to what everyone else in the world was doing! Their unusual story & love for tattoos & rockabilly style was inspiration enough for these two lovers to plan their wedding."

Katie and Christopher dropped just $1000 on their amazing wedding. They hosted it in their own home, the bride bought her dress online and the reception décor was put together by the couple themselves. They had a bubble machine on the ceiling, costume accessories, creepy mannequins, sparklers and black silk petals. Their seating was all thrifted to save cash.

A Black Wedding Dress, A Traditional Church Wedding & A Burlesque Themed Reception: Scarlet & Craig
Kat
November 21, 2011
Scarlet & Craig's wedding wowed me as soon as I spied that dress. I was so excited to be able to share this incredible Goth extravaganza and luckily for you lot, so were the newlyweds. In fact Craig's reply when I emailed him back saying 'Yes yes, hell yes (ps your wife is hot)' was something along the lines of 'OMG so excited that you're going to feature us!!! Squeeee'.
"I'd never really thought about my wedding day growing up, so when Craig proposed on a trip to Amsterdam (with a tattoo that simply said 'Marry Me' on his wrists!) I was thrown into a bit of a panic!" Scarlet explained. "But as soon as we started planning we knew we wanted to do things our own way. Luckily we found Rock n Roll Bride, which made us realise there really are no 'rules' for a wedding, and then we just went all out! We didn't start out with one, but as we went along we developed a kind of pink and black gothic fairytale theme, pink being my favourite colour, and black being Craig's!

Leah & Peter’s Red + Black Rockabilly Wedding
Kat
March 29, 2011
Leah & Peter had a red & black themed rockabilly wedding. They kept the fact that they had got married earlier in the day a surprise from a lot of their guests but made sure all the most important people were in attendance...including their two (very well dressed!) pugs.
"We were never officially engaged (Peter bought my my black pug Ziggy instead of an engagement ring!) we just always knew we would get married and with both of us turning 30 in June 2010 was as good a reason as any," Leah told me. !We never wanted to be the kind of people who let the real reason for getting married to be overshadowed by stressing about table placings etc so we focused on what would make us have a good time at the party and turned the tables so people were leaving with things that we had bought!"

The Shining Inspired Glam Goth Wedding
Kat
September 21, 2010
Mindy & David got married at The Stanley Hotel in Colorado, the hotel that provided the inspiration to Stephen King for The Shining.
"Our first thoughts about what we wanted our wedding to look and sound and feel like were all over the board" the couple told me. "Our first decision was the location. We had stayed at the Historic Stanley Hotel the summer previous, and while we were familiar with much of the folklore of the place, we were delighted to find character that goes far deeper than "haunted joint." We had a wonderful time and felt a connection to the Stanley."
