After a Twitter proposal (#BrunaDigaSim – there are a number of videos of them on TV on You Tube after it happened, unfortunately they are all in Portuguese!) Bruna & Alexandre went to work planning their ‘vintage geek’ themed wedding.
“The wedding industry in Brazil is so unfashionable, people concentrate on traditional things and it’s almost impossible find a service provider available to do what you really want,” Bruna told me. “We decided to have a personal wedding. To see this happening we asked most of our friends to help us. We love tattoos, rock/indie music, film photography and technology, and we tried to put everything together into our wedding. The results were above what we thought they could be. We were featured on almost every single wedding blog and site in Brazil as an inspirational wedding which was amazing!”
Be sure to check out their super-sweet video too.
Aww congratulations guys! Thank you so much for sharing your wedding and proposal story with us today!

Carrie and Neil had a red and white wedding with rockabilly and polka dot touches! The day was held at Highbury Hall in Birmingham and was full of DIY décor. "We would like to think we were far more relaxed, friendly and laid-back than other wedding we have been to", began the bride. "So many weddings we have been to seem so stiff and uptight as a whole. We wanted a fun party atmosphere with a live band playing lots rockabilly, plenty of food for people to stuff their faces, and encouraged dancing until your feet dropped off. The word 'formal' never entered our vocabulary."

When I get wedding submissions like Nathan & Laura's I'm literally bursting at the seams to get them published. So sometimes I sneakily share a picture or two on my facebook page. The shot I shared of Nathan's reaction when seeing his bride walking down the aisle totally encompassed this awesome wedding. And it would appear you guys loved it too - over 200 likes and I didn't even show you the stunning bride! Well the wait is over my friends, I'm sure you'll agree it was worth it and that his face was 100% justified. Just look at her!

A Quirky Brazilian Wedding Planned in Just Two Months: Juliana & Tomas
Kat
May 24, 2012
Organised in just two months, Juliana & Tomas' wedding was held in Brazil on the very date that they first met. The bride explains, "Tomas & I met two years ago through a mutual friend. At that time, Tomas lived in New York and I lived in Sao Paulo. In December 2009, Tomas went to Brazil to work and our friend invited him to spend New Year's Eve in a house I'd rented at the beach. We spent 6 days together and, two months later, we met again, but this time in New York. We started a long-distance relationship, which lasted just 4 months, because I decided to come to New York. My plan was to spend a season in New York, study and invest in our relationship. Back then, we were very uncertain about our relationship's future, but now we have no doubt we made the best decision."

We've all seen Doctor Who themed weddings before, but I'm going to put my stake in the ground and say I think this is the best one ever. Stephanie & Aaron’s Budget ‘Peacock Vintage’ Wedding

"The whole wedding was sort of 'peacock vintage' themed," newlywed Stephanie told me. "We really managed to keep the wedding cost pretty low and spent less than $12,000! We was able to do this by making our own centerpieces, boutineers, corsages, invitations, and headpieces. We also used an older, less popular florist because I knew exactly what kind of flowers I wanted, and I provided the ribbon and feathers to her, leaving no room for error."
