Jenni & Alex’s wedding celebration began with a Mendhi ceremony held at the groom’s parents house a few days before the wedding . Their photographers Madlove Photography were there to capture this intimate event as well as their actual wedding, which was held at Rancho Guajome Adobe in Vista, CA in November.
“They were such a sweet and fun couple!”explained photographers Mike & Nickie . “Their day was filled with so many beautiful details, many of which were handmade by Jenni. She DIY’ed the boutonnières, table settings, wedding favors and so many of the cute decorations. They were really able to achieve a beautiful, vintage aesthetic for the whole day.”
The bride wore a Dolly Couture short wedding dress and Wild Diva shoes which she customised herself by adding flowers and other materials bought from a craft store.
“We loved working with Jenni & Alex because they are the type of couple who just keeps you smiling and laughing the whole time you’re with them. Their ceremony, which was officiated by a friend, had their guests laughing the whole time, yet it was also so beautiful and heart-felt. Besides the awesomeness of having food from Whole Foods and an ice cream truck, our favorite part of their day was the first dance. Alex sat Jenni down in the middle of the dance floor and danced to/mimed ‘I Put a Spell On You’ around her in front of all of their guests. It was hilarious!”
Gorgeous! Thank you to Jenni & Alex and Madlove Photography for sharing these with us today.

I Love that Glove
September 9, 2012
Honestly? I struggled with what to write about today. Usually on a Sunday I'll post something non-wedding related that's caught my eye or I'll share something exciting that I've done in the week. But I shared my Photography Farm retreat escapades in this week's Thursday Treats and since then I've basically been chained to my computer replying to the squillions of emails that came in whilst I was away and writing as many blog posts as physically possible. I also spent rather a lot of time on the phone to Cosmopolitan Magazine. NO BIG DEAL (more on this soon!)
And then this wedding pinged into my inbox and it all became clear.

I'm definitely not only of those girly girls. I favour a bold and modern aesthetic over pretty pastels any day. But Joey & Mike's wedding slayed me when it landed in my inbox recently. And 'pretty' is really the only word I can use to best describe what I saw.

Tattoos & Toadstools: Toni & Colin

Tattoos, tears and a seriously cute couple. Toni & Colin's wedding is what my dreams are made of. These guys are THE perfect Rock n Roll couple and they're wedding slays me. Plus they had Sassy of Assassynation as their wedding photographer so they instantly go way up in the cool stakes with me!
The wedding was held at The Quay, Musselburgh, on 10th November. "Colin and I met online what feels like a life time ago but wasn't all that long ago in the grand scheme of things", Toni began. "We spoke for a month or so online and then he made plans to come over from Northern Ireland to visit me in Edinburgh. 'I'll come for the weekend,' he said. Well, he arrived and he's yet to leave! We've lived together from day one and, including the night before the wedding, we are yet to spend one single night apart. It's a good job he makes me laugh as much as he does!"

Regula & Bruno’s Creative, Spooky & Wonderful Wedding (Part One)

"Regula & Bruno rock my world"...that's how photographer Assassynation introduced me to this bad ass couple when she sent me their wedding. The pair are from Belgium but wanted to be married in England. Their ceremony day was followed by a tea party reception and spooky photo shoot in an abandoned fairground (!) in their home country a few weeks later. Luckily for us all, this second part took place just last weekend and believe me, I'm going to be featuring it just as soon as the photos are ready!
But for now, it's all about the ceremony...

Remember Regula & Bruno's spooky Rye wedding? Well they're back, not once but twice today! I'm kicking of this Wednesday morn' with the Belgian leg of their wedding and this afternoon I'll be sharing their creepy wedding portraits taken at an abandoned fairground! Originally from Belgium the couple were keen to have a tea party reception in their home city for all their friends & family that didn't come over to the UK for their ceremony.
Writer Regula told me all about their tea party. "We knew what we wanted to do for our wedding reception immediately. Because we were getting married in England we wanted our friends from Belgium to feel like they were in the UK. We decided we were going to do a Wedding afternoon tea."

Carrie and Neil had a red and white wedding with rockabilly and polka dot touches! The day was held at Highbury Hall in Birmingham and was full of DIY décor. "We would like to think we were far more relaxed, friendly and laid-back than other wedding we have been to", began the bride. "So many weddings we have been to seem so stiff and uptight as a whole. We wanted a fun party atmosphere with a live band playing lots rockabilly, plenty of food for people to stuff their faces, and encouraged dancing until your feet dropped off. The word 'formal' never entered our vocabulary."

A Low Key London Wedding for just £600: Rain & Attila

I love a detail-heavy wedding as much as the next blogger, but you know what, it's usually the unapologetically low key and budget weddings that pull at my heartstrings the most. Rain & Attila spent just £600 on their wedding and the day couldn't have been more perfect.

One of the questions people always ask me when we meet is, "don't you ever get bored of writing about weddings?" And I always say, with the utmost honestly, that if they saw all the amazing weddings I got to look at on a daily basis they, like me, would never get bored!
