Jasmine & Piers had only 16 guests for their intimate wedding which meant they were able to have a really relaxed and personal celebration. “We wanted it to be simple and pretty, and most of all…relaxed,” the bride told me.
“We didn’t really have a theme, but if I had to pick a work to describe it, I say Love . Everything involved in the day are things (or people) we love. Piers had his Father as his best man, which was very sweet. One of my very dear friends, and her boyfriend, from NYC spent the morning with me, helping me get prepared. During the ceremony, our friends and family sat in a circle around us in the “Lady Chapel” of All Saints West Dulwich. It was exactly what we invisioned and felt so special. We all had so much fun. I don’t think either of us have ever smiled that much in one day!! It was perfect.”
Their reception was held at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant which they decorated with items they already owned. “We had a vintage bottle collection, so it seemed natural to utilise these for the dinner table…especially since there are a mix of bottles from the US and England (Piers is from London and Jasmine from NYC). I had seen the handkerchief invites on Etsy and loved them. They seemed so thoughtful and sweet. Allie from Allie Ruth Design was very sweet to take the handkerchiefs and vintage London postcards I had collected and put together the wedding invites. Thankfully it was really easy to work with her from so far away and luckily I have some very sweet friends that helped to ship everything to me as it was ready….invites, my dress and the favours!”
Jasmine wore an Elizabeth Dye wedding dress which was bought at Lovely Bride , NYC. Her stunning shoes were from Kate Spade and her headpiece from BHLDN .
Thank you so Jasmine & Piers and their photographer Caro for sharing this beautiful day with us.

Comic Book & Superhero Wedding: Holly & Anthony

November 26, 2012
Happy Monday you lovely little critters - have I got a wedding to start this week off with a bang or what!?
Unusually I was actually submitted this wedding by the groom and via twitter because his gorgeous bride, Holly, was nervous about doing so. Er, girl, are you KIDDING me?! I'm dying over your wedding. The comic book, superhero and geek chic radness is just too good. This is one of those weddings that I genuinely wish I'd been invited to!

I'm definitely not only of those girly girls. I favour a bold and modern aesthetic over pretty pastels any day. But Joey & Mike's wedding slayed me when it landed in my inbox recently. And 'pretty' is really the only word I can use to best describe what I saw.

Pastel Colours for a 1950s Inspired Wedding: Emily & James
Kat
June 14, 2012
As soon as I laid eyes on Emily's incredible silver embellished 1950s inspired wedding dress I was smitten. What an utterly gorgeous bride and a completely beautiful wedding. I couldn't wait to get it on these digital pages of mine! The couple were married at Edes House, Chichester and had their reception at the groom's father's house in Bosham.
"We wanted our wedding day to completely reflect James and I", Emily told me. "This was something we kept in mind during the whole process, as I think it is easy to lose sight of what and who weddings are for, when you are surrounded by so many people in the wedding industry telling you that you absolutely need this and definitely need that.
We both adore the 1950s and the pastel shades, and I really feel like these things were very present in the whole day. We also chose from the beginning which things would be the most important to us - these ended up being the food/drink for James and the flowers for me. We chose a catering company who were very local and produced the most delicious food. We hand picked each of the types of alcohol we chose, with Arundel Ales coming from Sussex and the cider coming from Appledram which is just around the corner from the reception."

Tattoos & Toadstools: Toni & Colin

Tattoos, tears and a seriously cute couple. Toni & Colin's wedding is what my dreams are made of. These guys are THE perfect Rock n Roll couple and they're wedding slays me. Plus they had Sassy of Assassynation as their wedding photographer so they instantly go way up in the cool stakes with me!
The wedding was held at The Quay, Musselburgh, on 10th November. "Colin and I met online what feels like a life time ago but wasn't all that long ago in the grand scheme of things", Toni began. "We spoke for a month or so online and then he made plans to come over from Northern Ireland to visit me in Edinburgh. 'I'll come for the weekend,' he said. Well, he arrived and he's yet to leave! We've lived together from day one and, including the night before the wedding, we are yet to spend one single night apart. It's a good job he makes me laugh as much as he does!"

Regula & Bruno’s Creative, Spooky & Wonderful Wedding (Part One)

July 4, 2011
"Regula & Bruno rock my world"...that's how photographer Assassynation introduced me to this bad ass couple when she sent me their wedding. The pair are from Belgium but wanted to be married in England. Their ceremony day was followed by a tea party reception and spooky photo shoot in an abandoned fairground (!) in their home country a few weeks later. Luckily for us all, this second part took place just last weekend and believe me, I'm going to be featuring it just as soon as the photos are ready!
But for now, it's all about the ceremony...
