Dorset based Anissa Lee prides herself on her unique approach to wedding stationery . “I specialise in hand cut paper using a scalpel as the drawing tool cutting freehand straight onto a blank piece of paper,” she explains. “Using the method of hand cutting makes each piece unique. The paper used is a synthetic paper called Polyart, which is waterproof and makes it suitable to be used outside.”

However Anissa’s work goes far beyond just wedding stationery . She has been commissioned to make displays for weddings and events including 3d dresses, props, accessories and decorations. She can also take her hand cut designs and laser cut them as confetti or acrylic jewellery for wedding gifts or favours.
“I am happy to do any theme,” she continues. “the crazier the better! I can vary from accessories, table/chair/room decorations, bouquets & flowers, props for photo shoots, window displays for bridal boutiques, designs for invites, gifts and even a paper dress for the more daring bride! My recent collection ‘Paper Wonderland ’ of hand cut paper dresses and props shows a variety of possible products including bows, roses, hearts, headbands, hats/crowns, bunting and cups.”

Under the Spotlight – Wonderland Avenue

When I got engaged back in 2007, the first thing I started searching for (well, apart from the dress!) was a wedding photographer. Now back then there were no wedding blogs in the UK to guide me and the task was a very daunting one! I had no idea where to start and in the end I found our photographer's in a wedding magazine.
But you know what? Not all great photographers can (or know how to) get into wedding magazines...especially maybe newer, more budget-friendly shooters. However fret not - nowadays you lucky brides have a plethora of blogs and online services devoted to showcasing new as well as established wedding photographic talent - helping you find the perfect photographer to capture your day.
In my opinion, one of the best services I've come across devoted to wedding photographer searches is the UK based, Wonderland Avenue. I'm totally convinced that your'e going to love their site and utterly adore what they have to offer. If you don't find the perfect photographer for you here, I'll eat my (pink) hat!

Today I'd like to introduce you to the photography of Kjrsten Madsen. Over the past few months I've been rediscovering my love of film photography and so it really is an honour to share these images with you all. Our wedding photos were shot on film, and although this wasn't really a concious decision at the time, looking back there really is a huge amount of joy that I get from knowing that these images were imprinted on a physical roll of film and developed by hand in a darkroom.

What is it with girls and stationery? I love it. I think its the fact of owning something simple, but beautiful and personal - something you can actually hold in your hand in all it's prettiness (as weird as that sounds!) So needless to say I love love love getting emails from wedding stationery designers. The guys that contact me are always such a creative bunch and it's really awesome to see first hand, and then share with you, what they can do.
