Chen Lie & Thom got married in Oz in a crazy, wild and fun party way. She is Australian and he is British (they now live and work in Prague!) so they decided to head over to Chen Lie’s hometown of Perth for their 1960s/70s/John & Yoko inspired wedding.
“I had been living in Korea on and off for the past 9 years so it was exciting to return home” Chen Lie told me. “We planned a simple elopement with a romantic 60s theme in the park but it turned into a wedding due to the kindness of family and friends. Everything was a gift from he photographer to the catering. It was a magical day. The day before the wedding my Made of Awesome took us vintage shopping and surprised us by paying for Thom’s vintage 70s Yves Saint Laurent suit and my vintage 60s hat.”
Thanks to Chen Lie & Thom for sharing thair crazy-awesome day with us today

Chris and Ursula met at the age of 18, when they were both obsessed with music and played in a combined schools orchestra. "He had a massive curly shoulder-length afro at the time, I wore a pink school uniform; he played oboe, I played clarinet", she said. "We bonded over car rides home and his mum’s choc-chip cookies. We were shy young things though and didn't eventually get together until a year or so later, after I returned from living in Denmark for a year."

They told their guests to dress like it was a 1970s Met Gala, the bride wore hot pink and yellow and the groom, a suit with Kermit and Miss Piggy on the back - yep, it's safe to say Millie and Dan's Brighton wedding was anything but conventional.

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...

Modern Vintage Weddings

Fancy having an eclectic outdoor wedding? Well have I got the inspiration for you today! With a hearty dose of elbow grease and a firm plan of action, Lou & Stu coordinated their Sheffield Botanical Gardens wedding mostly themselves.
"I'm a vintage events organiser so the vintage vibe was a natural way to go", began the bride. "We’re both big 50s & 60s fans so we tried to combine the two in terms of the fashion but we didn't want a fancy dress wedding. My dress was late 50s/early 60s in style (vintage, which I had altered to fit) and Stu’s suit was a 60s style tonic suit from Mod shop Jump the Gun in Brighton."

We may be well on our way towards the depths of winter (waah!) but I thought I'd just cling onto those hazy Summer days for just a little while longer by sharing Lynne & Stevie's June wedding. Retro Bowling Club Wedding with an Ocean View: Nat & Sam

November 30, 2012
The retro wedding of Nat & Sam is perfect... literally perfect. I just know you're going to go nuts for Nat's nostalgic bridal style, their ocean view ceremony and the reception that looks like it stepped right out of the past.
"Our ceremony was at Burrows Park Headland, Sydney", explained Nat. "The ceremony spot was a beautiful cliff edge looking over the Pacific Ocean and located right next to the Bowling Club where we had the reception. We loved that the only way to get to it was via a very long, natural aisle sheltered on one side by trees, which we decorated with Chinese lanterns. For our reception we chose Clovelly Bowling Club. It was cheap as chips to hire, the drinks prices stuck in the 1980s, and the tacky bright blue carpet and a strange old picture of the Queen flanked by two Aussie flags above a stage which houses an ancient piano (which we tuned up and used!) were AWESOME! As soon as we walked in we looked at each other and said 'Yes!'. Oh, and it had 180 degree ocean views!"

Junk and Glitter Themed Farm Wedding: Ellie & Ed

September 6, 2013
Ellie and Ed wanted their June wedding to not only reflect them - their likes and loves - but to be a fun day for everyone, full of DIY details. The day started with an emotional ceremony at Aldenham School, Elstree and the reception was in tipis on Buckettsland Farm, Well End. "We said the whole way through the planning process that we didn't have a theme but looking back it was essentially junk and glitter", began the bride. "If you ever saw our flat, you would know that we’re not matchy-matchy people in the slightest. I love tack and have a big collection of oddities, plus I have an obsession with the stars and the moon and anything glittery, so I always knew they would end up making an appearance."
