Where could be a better place to celebrate the happiest time of your life that The Happiest Place on Earth!?
“Mary and her strange love for Disney that only a comic-goth girl could have, met Carlos the guitar player for an LA metal band in 2004″ photographer Colette Lash told me. ” They fit together like rockers and latex pants. Mary rocks out at Carlos’ shows, and Carlos stand proudly by his girl for her art openings and show premieres (she’s worked on all sorts of tv/movie cartoons that have her wicked sense of humor like South Park where she has been for a handful of years) The two make art together too, Carlos builds these guitars and Mary does beautiful paintings on them.”
The pair have a genuine love for Disney and have been season pass holders at the park since day one, “especially for Bats Day!” Colette laughed! “Revelling in the snarky comments from the visitors from Snore USA, weparaded down Main st to New Orleans Square hand in hand and gently shaded by Mary’s black parasol. With the perfect black diamond engagement ring in hand Carlos proposed to Mary on the Haunted Mansion ride in front the crystal ball area.” On the actual shoot day the couple convinced a Disney worker to embroider some Micky Mouse hats with the words “I” and “do”, a really cute and fun touch I think.
For a couple such as this there could be no other place than the magic kingdom to photograph their engagement photos. Mary & Carlos wanted something “cartoony & spirited, inspired by who they are and to show their contrast against the vomit pink castle” as photographer Colette described it! They may not necessarily a archetypical Disney couple but are definatly a couple that Jack Skellington would appreciate.
Thanks to Colette for sharing this awesome couple with us today
