I didn’t plan today’s post this way but when I was uploading all the images for the weddings I selected I realised we’re going to be taking a little trip all around the world – starting with this amazing red themed wedding from South Africa!
Philip & Jay’s wedding took place at Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa, overlooking the spectacular South African landscape. The location made for some really unusual and fun places for their portraits. The incredible decor was all organised by Andele of Aleit Wedding Planners who was able to perfectly capture their vision of a eclectic, red-infused spectacular! I am totally nuts about those red glasses hanging from the roof and the ornate chandelier lying on the table – just amazing and so so original!
Thanks to the amazing Lizelle for sharing this wedding with us today.
Pop back later to see where the Rock n Roll Bride Bus takes us on our next wedding adventure!

When it come to planning their May wedding, Adeline didn’t start out with the mindset that she wanted it to be unique of alternative; she just wanted a day that represented herself and her partner, Nelius, and what they love. They didn’t want traditions forced on them just because that’s what people do at weddings, so they nixed traditions like cake cutting and bouquet tossing, and kept some things they loved. “I just wanted to look pretty, marry my man and have loads of fun with the people I love the most!” explained Adeline. “Nelius wanted good food and drink, and that’s what the man got.”

Classic Vintage with a Twist of Awesome

I am really starting to fall head over heels in love with Matt Johnson Photography...and I'm not afraid to admit it! His images are subtle, unobtrusive and captures beautiful weddings with all the justice they deserve. Elodie & Greg's wedding was one I fell in love with as soon as I saw the first frame. Her amazing vintage-inspired outfit, jewellery and so-now white lace gloves make me smile with glee and his rad groom style puts every other groom to shame! The no-jacket/waistcoat look is totally Rock n Roll and looks way-too-cool when matched with his boys in braces. The details of this wedding are to die for - from the birdcages, the white heart motif, the retro 'admissions' sign, the outdoor chandelier. Awesome.

Mindy & David got married at The Stanley Hotel in Colorado, the hotel that provided the inspiration to Stephen King for The Shining.
"Our first thoughts about what we wanted our wedding to look and sound and feel like were all over the board" the couple told me. "Our first decision was the location. We had stayed at the Historic Stanley Hotel the summer previous, and while we were familiar with much of the folklore of the place, we were delighted to find character that goes far deeper than "haunted joint." We had a wonderful time and felt a connection to the Stanley."

Newlywed's Bianca & Sean got married in Cape Town (where they have now lived for 10 years) at a gorgeous restaurant called Pure at Hout Bay Manor. The wedding was based on a vintage/retrospective theme. The Bridesmaids all chose their own sleek black dresses and the boys wore skinny ties and sharp black suits. Bianca looked every bit the vintage princess in a custom made silver satin and lace wedding gown made by local couturier Cindy Bam and a vintage 1920s hat and veil.

Cath and Tony chose their wedding venue, Ullet Road Unitarian Church in Liverpool for the dark gothic vibes and because their home is filled with ironic displays of religious iconography. The dark backdrop was perfect place for their celebration which included a cream Cadillac, a pizza wedding breakfast and an acrobat contorting herself to Metallica songs! They also had burlesque dancer, a lady wearing Prosecco skirt, a jazz singer, loads of neon signs and an arcade game station!
