I’ve got a bonus post for you today, simply because I couldn’t help myself and wanted to blog this right away! Amanda and Walé got married in Cornwall, Polhawn Fort to be specific which overlooks a dramatic bay. Amanda wore a completely gorgeous bright blue Roland Mouret dress with pewter Jimmy Choo wedges (swoon.) The bouquet was a structural arrangement of Calla lilies and she clipped some pretty little butterflies from Urban Outfitters in her hair. Her ring was the ‘crystal haze’ ring by Stephen Webster and Wale’s ring was from Sarah Sheridan .
Thanks to Lisa for giving me an exclusive sneaky peek of these last week and for allowing me to share them with you today!

Rain on your wedding day is a big worry for a lot of couples, but today I'm here to prove to you that it can actually be pretty amazing! Yes, Helen and James' outdoor festival wedding was a wash-out, but they definitely didn't let it ruin their day. Check out the amazing photographs their photographer Neil Thomas Douglas was able to capture... of course shots like this requires a couple who aren't afraid to get a little wet and muddy, but these guys went all out! They even went out in a boat on the river during the downpour!

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

I am always so incredibly inspired when I see weddings where the budget was small. Far from it seeming like the couple had to make compromises, the ones I get to share always seem to prove that a small budget doesn't have to mean a budget-looking wedding. In my opinion it is actually often the weddings with the smaller budgets that seem to have the most heart, the most personal details and the most inspiring ideas.
