For Jessica’s trash the dress, she wanted to go for two different looks. So along side her husband Randy and her photographer Lori she got kitted out twice to create some images she’d always remember. First up was a retro rockabilly style urban session full of graffiti shots and stark architecture completed with her kick ass attitude and fashion including necklaces by Anna Sheffield for Target , the Je t’aime two finger ring (which I adore!) by Erica Anenberg and her heels were by Steve Madden .
F0llowing this a much softer, more earthy style was required, so they all headed out to a local woodland with a gorgeous green chair and had a play around. For this style she wore vintage necklaces and a vintage coat, boots by MIA and a pink disc necklace by Dominique Cohen . Her dress in both sessions was from David’s Bridal.

Alternative Asian Bridal Shoot
Kat
October 6, 2012
We don't get to see a whole lot of alternative Asian wedding inspiration, so I was thrilled when I received this bridal shoot with an edge from School of Rock graduate Rabbia Ali Shah from the Asian Wedding Ideas blog.
"Seeing the same Asian bridal images can start to get a little repetitive", wrote Rabbia, "and the idea of something a little edgier is one that I had been thinking about for a while. Getting people on board wasn't the easiest of task but getting in touch with wedding photographer Priti Shikotra, changed all that. She had similar thoughts about a shoot."

A DIY Fashion Shoot Using The Rock n Roll Bride Planning Notebook!

A photo shoot featuring the Rock n Roll Bride planning notebooks!? Oh yes that's one sure-fired way to get my attention!
"We styled the whole shoot ourselves using items from eBay (and of course the Rock n Roll Bride notebook," photographer Jaye of Tux & Tales Photography told me. "We decided we would do a few styled shoots ourselves on a shoestring budget. I think it is a great way to show brides that they can have a fun and fab style with a little pocket change and a lot of elbow grease. I hope you enjoy my ultra-rad millinery. Picture me sitting on the living room floor, feathers flying everywhere whilst my cat tries to run off with the hat in his mouth every time I turn around to get another feather. The bouquet I made myself out of crepe paper. Boo (our model) is a burlesque performer so she did her own hair & make up!"

Shaun & Lulu’s Retro Styled Wedding Shoot

January 19, 2011
Shaun & Lulu Cash (hello, best names ever!?) had a wedding shoot in Adelaide with photographers Aila & Scott of White Wall Photography. Lulu wore custom couture gown by Eliza French.
As they started to shoot, it began to rain so they all ducked under a landing dock in the industrial location they were at - and it turned out to be the perfect backdrop for these shots!

If you're a regular reader of Rock n Roll Bride I'm sure you'll already be aware of the amazing Emma Case (she shot the image that I'm currently using as my blog header/my 'Punk Rock n Roll Bride' shoot) and Lucy Ledger Designs. Lucy makes gorgeously creative vintage-inspired stationary (I've also been lucky enough to feature her before as well as meet her in actual real life!) After Lucy saw Emma's work on Rock n Roll Bride she got in touch asking if they could get together to do a promotional shoot for her vintage stationary company. Hello!? Match made in vintage Rock n Roll heaven or what!?

Couture Funfair Bridals

Andrew & Talitha were married last year but were keen to do something a little different and have fun doing another photo shoot. "After many emails with Talitha, I knew she and Andrew would be perfect for a fun fair shoot we had been dying to make happen" photographer Angie told me. "We wanted a certain look – 50’s inspired hair and makeup and I knew we had to have a lollipop bouquet and lollipop buttonholes for Andrew."

Not all bridal shoots need a white dress and lots of props. Sometimes, all you need is a horse (ha!) and a woodland.

Åsa & Daniel’s Vintage-Find, Barcelona Shoot
Kat
November 24, 2010
Åsa & Daniel's Barcelona photo shoot was all about the details, "because to me it's the little details that make the huge difference and I wanted to show them those little details" Spanish photographer Inés explained. The original theme and idea for this shoot came from Inés herself to show couples that capturing the personal details and portraits beautifully is what's super important in wedding photography - even if that means dressing up again for a post-wedding shoot - the perfect excuse if you ask me!
