Lauren & Alexander got married last summer in their own back garden, surrounded by 35 of their closest friends and family. The whole day was a DIY affair and a perfect reflection of who they are as a couple. Lauren looks amazing in her simple Betsey Johnson dress and Moschino Chic & Cheap shoes , while Alexander bucked all the trends by wearing a casual T-shirt and Jeans from Nordstrom and by spending the whole day barefoot!
The wedding had a very comfortable, home-grown, relaxed party feel. The details weren’t really that important to this couple, ignored in favour of what really mattered to them – family, friends, home and love.
Thanks to Kristi for sharing this, her first ever wedding, with us today. I am in love with this couple and their laid back, chilled attitude
Don’t forget about the free wedding photography contest I’m running with Kat Braman right now. We have had so many great entries but you still have just over a week to get yours in.

I am crazy in love with Tanya & Mark's amazingly colourful DIY wedding! The event took place in Tanya's parent's backyard in Northampton, PA and totally reflected the couple's quirky, colourful, kitschy nature. They really put 100% of themselves into the day. Tanya made the invitations, the felt flowers, the centrepieces and most of the decorations herself and all of the tables were covered with unique vintage fabric sourced from various places throughout the wedding planning. One of my favourite details had got to be the pink flamingos everywhere though! Tanya says she has a slight obsession with John Waters so this detail was a must!
Tanya found her and her Bridesmaid's dress from Ebay and her amazing red birdcage veil from Events and Occasions. Her shoes were from Modcloth and her red petticoat was found at Unique Vintage.
Thanks to Tanya and Mark for sharing their day and all the gorgeous details with us!

Are you ready for some unapologetic girlishness mixed with cute button and origami details alongside a kick ass heavily tattooed couple, pink dreadlocks, animal onesies and an awesome backyard setting? Well then you my dear are in luck because that's exactly what I have for you today!
Soya and Skip met in a rock club in Lincoln and after just a year of dating she proposed on 29th February! "From the beginning we knew we didn't want a traditional wedding", the bride began. "They are lovely and all, but they can really lack personality. We used things that we love to decorate. My favourite part of the whole day was the ceremony. It was emotional but with lots of light-hearted laughs. Our readings and vows summed us both up perfectly. We even had mention of our ever growing number of pet rats, Batman and Robin and a zombie apocalypse in our vows which were followed by a hand fasting."

Sigh! I just adore weddings liked Mark and Erika's. Chilled out, not at all matchy-matchy and where everyone looks like they had a total blast. The couple didn't wait a 'tick the box' wedding, instead they pulled inspiration from all over - their heritage, their home and their friends. "We didn't really have a theme or colours that matched", Erika wrote. "I have always been a mis-match kind of girl so we had elements of our backgrounds so Japan / Yorkshire / countryside / Autumn / vintage/ boho!"

A simple and low-key wedding at home was just the ticket for Katie & Michael, who were married in October last year. The day was held at Katie's parent's house and the entire thing was planned by the couple themselves.
Katie put her own wedding outfit together from an American Eagle cream crochet top, a matching crochet skirt and vintage cowboy boots. Each piece only cost $25 each and were sown together to create a dress by Michael's mother.

Both lovers off Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, Hannah and Derek wanted their Portland wedding to transport their guests to Middle Earth. The theme was a botanical woodland and the day was unique, intimate, and moody, while reflecting their Oregon roots.

An English Enchanted Forest Wedding

John and Lucy were married at Larmer Tree Gardens in Wiltshire in September. They chose it because it had the pretty outside space that they wanted, and they were able to say their vows outside (which isn't always possible in the UK!) in their covered pavilion.
"We are both artists, I paint and John is a photographer, and we are both deeply inspired by nature", said Lucy. "I am also borderline obsessed with the vision of an enchanted forest so we wanted our wedding to feel like a blurry childhood memory of a place that was so beautiful and fantastical that you're not sure whether it was real or not. We fell in love with Larmer Tree Gardens the minute we clapped eyes on it. There were peacocks and parrots roaming around so we used a loose theme based on the colours of the peacocks plumage by having the boys in teal and the girls in royal blue."

Rebecca & John’s Elegant Vintage Garden Party

Rebecca & John's beautiful Tennessee wedding took place at Almost Heavens Wedding Resort. With quirky details and elegant 50's styling, this really was a wedding worthy of Rock n Roll credentials.
The bride wore a Paloma Blanca gown with awesome Irregular Choice shoes and a vintage veil that she found at a friend's yard sale. A friend of the bride who is a costume designer re-worked it for her to suit the style she was going for. She carried and vintage lace parasol.

Spanish-born Vero and Agus had been living in London for five years before their wedding so they wanted to bring a bit of 'Britishness' into their wedding back home. They chose their venue, Jardín Müller in Granada, because it reminded them of the gardens in the UK.
