This is something a little different for me to post but when I saw Rosie Parsons ‘ last few ‘detail shoots’ I fell in love! The Bristol – based photographer has a great relationship with some fantastic local vendors, from Clara Bows who rents and sells gorgeous vintage crockery, to local florists Bella & Fifi with whom Rosie spend the day dashing around the city delivering blooms in an adorable eco -chic piaggio . Finally I had to share some photographs from Gilly Woo , a good friend of Rosies’ 30th birthday a few weeks ago. The birthday girl is also a ridiculously talented dress maker and so not only are the images pretty damn stunning but how retro chic gorgeous is the her sparkly gold vintage glam dress?

A Trailer Trash Bridal Shoot with a Vintage Airstream

"Ever since I spent time travelling from Nashville to San Francisco last Autumn, I've benn obsessed with wanting to recreate vintage Americana!" wrote stylist Lynsey Le Keux. "This summer I had the pleasure of making it happen. I got together with some serious wedding industry talent including Sassy of Assassynation and Jo of The Couture Company. Our theme was 'trailer trash chic' which basically meant coney neck beers, dust-caked American cars, sweat smudged make up and broad blue skies. The aim was to portray unique bridal beauty against a backdrop of pure gritty trash... We wanted to inspire bridal styling outside of tradition and show our customers that they don't have to follow convention to rock a wedding - bridal beauty is subjective and one thing all the collaborators agreed on was how much we loved customers who did things their way."

Retro Pin Up Valentines Lovelies
Kat
February 6, 2010
With the day of hearts, flowers and lurrrve fast approaching, I have been inundated with Valentine's themed submissions, however this retro/pin up shoot from Jen Will may well be one of my utter favourites.
The shoot took place in her own kitchen which was the perfect setting for the baking theme. "This is part of the reason I love my apartment." Jen tells us "It is the coolest apartment ever, and my love for it is part of the reason I have yet to join the adult world of home ownership. It has a bathroom that would probably rent out as a large bedroom in New York City and a classic stove that came straight from the original Be Witched TV show. No matter where I live in the future, I will always love this place. I am so glad I got to document it in such a special way!"
I have to agree... and seeing these really makes me want to get my arse in gear and decorate our house! Thanks to Jen for sharing these.

Both beautiful and fun, this wedding was zipped over to me by newbie photographer Emma Case. I am struggling to believe this is only the second wedding she has ever shot! The Southampton based photographer told me all about Ruth & Dan's wedding:

Daisy and Leigh's retro wedding themed came about because they knew they wanted anything but a traditional day. "We decided to go down the retro/ vintage theme, but I also didn't want it to be the typical ‘vintage’ wedding style that is everywhere at the moment!" Daisy wrote. "I also didn't want a traditional sit-down meal so we had afternoon tea complete with cocktails served in teapots. The wedding eventually became about all of the things we love from the 1950s to the 1990s! I wanted our wedding to be really unpretentious and for everyone to have lots of fun."

We may be well on our way towards the depths of winter (waah!) but I thought I'd just cling onto those hazy Summer days for just a little while longer by sharing Lynne & Stevie's June wedding. The quintessentially British vibe perfectly accompanied by vintage and retro touches was just too good to pass up.

Charlotte and Sean's colourful retro wedding was held at The Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis, with their ceremony at Forde Abbey in Chard. Their theme was a vintage street party and having the day in two places meant the bridal party got a ride in a stretch Chevy limo midway through, complete with retro jukebox pumping out some old school tunes!
