I am really feeling the Holga love right now and when I saw these I knew I had to feature them as soon as possible. Shooting a wedding with a toy camera must be a precarious and slightly unnerving job (what if the film doesn’t load? what if the photos turn out badly? what if I loose the film? eeek!) but photographer Daniel Krieger appears to have got his skillZ down and pulled this one off seemingly without a hitch. These images are just making me even more excited about getting my very own piece of plastic joy soon..ahh the light, the texture, the soft focus – swoon!
Daniela & Chris got married at the ridiculously stunning Mohonk Mountain House. Have you ever seen a location so picturesque? Daniela’s beautiful dress is the Fontaine wedding gown from J Crew and she is actually selling it right now on Craigslist . It’s a size 4 and you may well be able to snap it up for yourself (if you’re quick!) you lucky lucky things.
Daniela has also shared a few little tips of her own:
Enjoy every minute and roll with it. The quirks of your wedding are what will make the memories that much better. On our day, it was so cold that the ipod playing the bridal march (dum, dum, da dum) froze (literally!) and the audience had to hum the music. Couldn’t have asked for anything better!!
Thanks so much to the brilliant Daniel Krieger for the photography, and the couple Daniela & Chris for allowing me to share their day.

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

Char and Rob were married on a yacht in the San Francisco Bay. They had their ceremony on the deck, followed by the reception inside. The bride, a shoe designer, designed her own shoes which she wore with a stunning fishtail dress from Nicole Miller. The couple met when they were both playing in punk bands and this love of music and having an alternative lifestyle definitely influenced their day.

Sarah & Matt’s Red & Black, Gothic Wedding
Kat
November 8, 2010
Gloomy and grey weather doesn't have to spell disaster for your wedding day - and in actual fact I think the darker atmosphere and evening-only event worked perfectly for Sarah & Matt's gothic-inspired wedding!
The wedding took place at Riverlife, an outdoor activity centre in Brisbane which also has a number of gorgeous venues, perfect for a wedding! The evening event started with pre-ceremony drinks and canapes for the guests. "We’ve been told that our absence at the start really added to the atmosphere, especially with our DIY decorations adorning the venue," said Sarah when I asked about their idea behind this. "Neither of us were at the venue when the event started. We arrived after the guests had an hour of canapes. While the guests were awaiting our arrival, the decorations served as a talking point, and since they could see that we’d gone to so much effort on the tables, it added to their anticipation to see our outfits and everything else that was to follow."

Max and Sarah were married at Rocher Harbor Resort, Washington. The wedding was timelessly elegant with rustic touches but with a dash of punk rock awesomeness thrown in! "Our wedding was a true labor of love," began the bride. "From the handmade terrariums topping our tables, ceremony arbor, and DIY'd program goodie bags - every step of our wedding was a group effort. It would not have been the gorgeous and action-packed hootenanny it was without the efforts of our dearest friends and treasured family members."
