Tara & Tom’s rock ‘n roll 1950’s styleee engagements are just awesome! The records, the old plane, the balloons… Photographer Sarah expressed concern to me that I’d featured some similar images recently, so I immediately pointed her in the direction of this post .
I have much love for these, thanks for sharing Sarah!

Tina & Derek's engagements in a burnt out house are so. damn. cool! I am loving the fireplace, the awesome chair and the feather. These have such an intense beauty to them...much love! Photographer Jen Arthur also shot some post wedding portraits as the couple eloped so didn't have pro wedding photographs, which I can't wait to see too.

‘Til Death Do Us Party Wedding Shoot: Angelo & Rin

"Angelo and I were super lucky to have design/photography duo Everywhere We Shoot on board to do our prenup photography," bride-to-be Rin writes. "These guys are friends who frequent the same gigs, art spaces, and thrift shops that we go to. Their philosophy has always been to keep doing and creating, not for money, but just because they love what they do. And knowing that we were on a budget-DIY-wedding, they agreed to do a pro bono engagement shoot for us in a heartbeat. I was also blessed to have a former schoolmate slash band groupie of mine, Kitty Caragay, do my make-up."

Engagement shoots might not be everyone's bag, in fact I rarely blog them myself. But when I saw Kate & Brandon's intimate and utterly gorgeous shoot I knew I had to break my self-imposed rule. I love how these images perfectly reflect the couple - their likes and dislikes, the things they do together and who they are as people - without any pretentiousness. Nothing is overdone and nothing has been imposed by the stylist - it just shows them.

I do love winter wedding inspiration, but more than that, I love winter inspiration that's a little bit more edgy. Gothic even. To me, winter is the perfect opportunity to embrace your dark side.
And for their engagement shoot, Adriana & xx wanted to to just that as well. "I wanted to really go all out and embodied the darker side of us for our engagement shoot", Adriana explained. "We really weren't trying to be 'dark', we were just trying to be true to us. My fiancé is a musician and I am a event creative director, so I really wanted our passions to be apparent in this shoot. I wanted to create an enchanting feeling and our own little creative fantasy."

When I first saw Jody and Shane's engagement shoot (the bride shared some shots in the Rock n Roll Bride Facebook group!) I almost let out an involuntary squeak. I'm sorry but how friggin' gorgeous are this pair!? If you're considering not bothering with an engagement session, I kinda feel these might start to change your mind a little bit...

Ash and Nick are both actors who have also had experience in designing, directing and film editing. They knew they wanted to do something funny and creative for their engagement shoot, rather than the standard cheesy hug-each-other-and-smile-in-a-dreamy-field kind of pictures. Massive horror and Halloween fans too, the idea of recreating some of their favourite TV and movie scenes fell into place after that!
