This beautiful, almost peaceful New York wedding was send to me by the photographer Amanda of Love Me Do Photography . The wedding took place in Central Park and the reception was held at a hip French Bistro in Midtown. What’s great about this wedding (quite apart from how stunning it is) is that the couple, Jen & Hooper pretty much DIY’ed the whole thing themselves. I think the only thing they didn’t make themselves was the cake and the dress!
The Bride, Jen is a fabulous blogger , painter and photographer herself, so she definitely started off of the right foot wedding planning wise! (Amanda even took some of Jen’s art as payment for photographing the wedding – how awesome is that!?)
Jen and Hooper designed the invitations/save the date (which you can see on Jen’s blog ), the centerpieces and flowers (including the bouquets and those wicked masks), the guest book and the cute little Jen and Hooper paper dolls at each place setting.
Jen’s dress was a silk chiffon evening gown from Bergdorf , her bolero was by Kate Towers and her gloves were by Carolina Amato
Enjoy these..and I’m pretty sure I don’t even have to mention how much I adore Jen’s bird tattoos…<swoooon!>

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? Rachel and Ryan wanted a beautiful but fun wedding so they decided on a subtle vintage carnival theme. They didn't want it to be cheesy or too overly done, and "No clowns" was top of their list of requirements. "We wanted it to feel like a beautiful whimsical wedding at a carnival and not have it be a cheesy carnival wedding," began Rachel. "We also wanted people to have a good time. We didn't want people saying 'that was nice' we wanted them to shout 'that was fun!' The ceremony was heartfelt enough to make you cry, but funny enough to make you laugh with quirky remarks and personal heartfelt vows. From the start we asked people on the invitations to wear bow ties and suspenders. Everyone loved the dress code and looked straight out of the 50s as the music blared."

A DIY Wedding in Downtown Santa Ana: Candice & Nathaniel

One of the things that bums be out about living in the UK is that we can't get married anywhere we like - of course many couples these days opt for a humanist ceremony at the spot of their choice with the 'legal bit' taking place a few days before or after, but it's not really the same. And when I see ceremonies as gorgeous as Candice & Nathaniel right in the heart of Downtown Santa Ana, I'm even more envious!
The wedding took place on June 3rd. The couple organised everything themselves and did so for less than $5000. The ceremony was held on 2nd Street Promenade, and the reception was at Memphis at the Santora, just round the corner. The couple met online and had their first date in the area, and Nathaniel proposed on New Years Eve at Memphis at the Santora,. Basically it was the obvious location for them to have their wedding too!

Flea Market Wedding: Cassidi & Rob

Cassidi & Rob were married at Moorestown Community House, New Jersey. They wanted the wedding to have a flea market vibe with touches of Rock n Roll. "Our colors were charcoal, dusty rose, powered pink, mixed shades of ivory and creams", the bride explained. "We had a ton of blue mason jars, old bottles, and milk glass. A million doilies in all shades of whites, creams, and ivory. Each table has random little props, some tables had small vintage white dogs, or old skeleton keys, or buttons."

You might think that there's nothing more traditional in English weddings than a country garden setting, but Abby and Hoi's big day was anything but quaint! They took the traditional elements and turned them on their head. From the bride's short polka dot dress and purple hair, to the Hello Kitty cake and the vintage ice cream cart for dessert, this was a wedding that was quintessentially 'them'.
