I’m sure you remember Heather & Lucus’ fabulous vintage pin up stylee engagements ? Well even if you don’t I know you’re going to love their wedding photographs! I am so honoured that Heather has send me these straight away and I am so excited to share these with you.
Heather describes their day:
The ceremony and reception was held at Squatters Brewery here in Salt Lake. We had a short, 6 minute ceremony that was funny and fit our personalities well. Our Australian friend got ordained and married us. My Dad wore a flamed hot rod tie to walk me down the isle in. I illustrated the two of us for a custom shot glass that was given to anyone that ordered a shot. We had an elaborate retro dessert table with my homemade cupcakes. (I am a self-proclaimed obsessed baker)
There was a retro photobooth for everyone to use, swing dancing, a themed ‘wedding cake’ shot that tasted like vanilla cake, and a cupcake tower. We also had our artist friends do illustrations of us, and framed them for display in the entry area. (I’ve included my favorite one in the folder) 🙂 – By JJ Harrison of www.bampop.com
My dress was a Pronovias gown that I bought on ebay for $300. Then I had it trimmed shorter, and had a jacket made to match it, by a girl on Etsy.com.
Thanks Heather, I am in love with your wedding!

My Beautiful Bride

Dani and Mark mat three years ago at Balham Bowls Club in south London. So when it came to choosing a venue for their October wedding, nowhere else could have been more perfect! "The night we met I was quite hungover and was out for a friend’s birthday, Mark was out for some drinks with his friend (and best man) Paul. Depending on who tells the story, I apparently gave Mark ‘the eye’ as he walked into the pub, which prompted him to start talking to me later in the evening, OR (my version) I don’t remember looking at Mark as he came in and wondered why he was staring at me all night. Either way, he bought me a rum and coke and we were inseparable ever since."

Dave and Emma's wedding had a subtle 1950s theme with a hung dollop of their personalities injected for good measure! The bride's high street dress, birdcage veil and fur coat combo definitely harked back to a bygone era and all the colourful DIY décor made the day very 'them'.

I Love that Glove
September 9, 2012
Honestly? I struggled with what to write about today. Usually on a Sunday I'll post something non-wedding related that's caught my eye or I'll share something exciting that I've done in the week. But I shared my Photography Farm retreat escapades in this week's Thursday Treats and since then I've basically been chained to my computer replying to the squillions of emails that came in whilst I was away and writing as many blog posts as physically possible. I also spent rather a lot of time on the phone to Cosmopolitan Magazine. NO BIG DEAL (more on this soon!)
And then this wedding pinged into my inbox and it all became clear.

Tux and Tales
August 20, 2013
Daisy and Leigh's retro wedding themed came about because they knew they wanted anything but a traditional day. "We decided to go down the retro/ vintage theme, but I also didn't want it to be the typical ‘vintage’ wedding style that is everywhere at the moment!" Daisy wrote. "I also didn't want a traditional sit-down meal so we had afternoon tea complete with cocktails served in teapots. The wedding eventually became about all of the things we love from the 1950s to the 1990s! I wanted our wedding to be really unpretentious and for everyone to have lots of fun."

We Heart Pictures

When Kirsty and Steve planned to marry they knew they wanted tradition to play no part in it. This started with their surname. Instead of keeping their own names or one of them taking the other's they decided to merge their two names to create a brand new one. So Kirsty Foster and Steve Pate became Mr & Mrs Fate!
When it came to capturing their wedding day they wanted photos that were bright, romantic, playful, with a little kooky edge. They found We Heart Pictures through Rock n Roll Bride and couldn't have been happier with their choice! They wedding took place on June 7th at Hoxton Hall, London.
