Amber and Christopher are a couple who weren’t afraid to buck tradition so an intimate wedding ceremony, held at the oh-so-cool Neon Graveyard in Las Vegas was perfect for their glam, retro inspired day them!
“We wanted a wedding that was more ‘us’ and was fun”, Amber told us. “We don’t really love dancing or the traditional wedding activities. We were married by an Elvis that we didn’t tell our guests about beforehand! We asked our guests to wear their Vegas best which included feathers, sequins and fun prints.”
The bride’s mum made the bride’s faux flower bouquet and the bride designed her own dresses! “I had a really hard time finding a Vegas-y dress that I loved. Even though I have design degree II did not want to take on a sewing project and plan a wedding at the same time so I designed my silver dress and had it made and then I just added feathers to the white dress.”
“Don’t feel obligated to do what other people expect”, she advises in conclusion. “We didn’t and we had so much fun. I feel like staying true to yourselves is important. Our 41 guests also had a great time and are still telling us it was the best wedding they have ever been to!”

Robyn and Ash were legally married in Vegas at the Chapel of the Flowers but they wanted to host a big party when they got back to Yorkshire for all their family and friends. The party had a really low key, retro and kitsch vibe, hosted at their local community centre. The flowers came from a local flower market, the cakes were from various supermarkets and the stationery was made by the bride. Instead of a fancy meal they served wood-fired pizza and the night ended with - who else? - an Elvis impersonator!

Gemma's 'Suits and Sequins' summary of her wedding to Guy is very apt, as in true Sinatra style they did things their way. Their Peckham wedding, shot by megababe Devlin Photos, was emotional and incredible from start to finish, from that sparkly green wedding dress (swoon) to the 'Silly Old Beans' sign they were married under, and the story behind their couples' amazing portraits...

Ben and Kate were married in August at Flaxton Gardens, Queensland, Australia. They wanted a romantic wedding but one that was a little bit different, to reflect their personalties. " I struggled to begin with to decide what to do and how to do it", began the bride. "I read a lot of magazines and blogs but it wasn't until I found Rock n Roll Bride that I realised that it really didn't matter what everyone else was doing, we should do what represents us best. So we did what made us happy, didn't worry about tradition so much and did things that weren't so ‘wedding’. I kept my hair short (I always thought I’d grow it), I kept it coloured (blue) and we wrote our own vows that made everyone laugh as they really reflected us."

Oh
Danni and Ben, your wedding gives me LIFE. I am so excited to share it on the blog today.
This gorgeous heavily-tattooed pair were hitched in Maidstone, at a venue called Kent Life. "Our wedding theme was a bit of a mixture of 1950s, rural farm life and a tea party!" said Danni. "We love the 1950s anyway, I have a huge collection of dresses already and we just love the music and the dancing. I really love that our wedding was personal to us and wasn't generic."
